Summary of Essential Duties:

  • Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients.

  • Educates patients on disease prevention and restorative measures.

  • Administers medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.

  • Performs/Assists procedures and diagnostic tests

  • Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition.

  • Assesses signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.

  • Plans and implements care based on observations.

  • Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures.

  • Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.

  • Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Identifies patient's readiness for learning and ability to understand instructions and give consent.

  • Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations.

  • Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients.

  • Delegates duties to non-licensed personnel as appropriate and within scope of practice

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • BSN preferred

License/Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted California RN license required

  • BLS from the American Heart Association required

  • Nationally recognized specialty certification required (or willing to obtain within one year from start date)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in Postpartum or Labor and Delivery required

  • Current employees must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least (1) year, to be promoted within the clinical ladder

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-16T00:00 Under general guidance of the Registered Nurse, the Surgical Tech II applies, demonstrates, and possesses proficient/advance knowledge, competencies, and skills of surgical and aseptic techniques and practices; assists the surgical team and performs a variety of tasks in an operating room; prepares, sterilizes, and cleans up surgical equipment and instruments; and is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The Surgical Tech II is generally assigned a triad of surgical/operative procedures and exercises critical thinking and independent judgement. Minimum Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent is required. * Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technician Program is required. Minimum Experience/Knowledge: * One-year experience as a Surgical Technician or as a Surgical Technician intern required. Surgical Technician intern experience must be paid and completed at Keck Medicine of USC. Required License/Certification: * Valid Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Surgery-Certified Credential (TS-C) from CAAHEP or ABHES certification. * Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. * LA City Fire and Safety Certification.
