Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School.
Required minimum experience: Prior experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Required skills (if applicable): Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic EKG, current BLS required.
Required license/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (within 6 months of hire).
Strongly Recommended: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or (PCCN), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).

Has principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient.
Plans, provides, and documents cares and teaching rendered. Assures a plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. Meets departmental nursing care standards using evidenced based practice and quality metrics; meets appropriate hospital standards through cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms. Observes HIPAA standards and regulations.
