Reportingto the Chief Nursing Officer the Director Med Surg will manage the operationsand activities of a 25 bed Surgical unit and a 13 bed Medical unit.
Overseesuccessful daily department operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscalproductivity and patient satisfaction goals/objectives
Supervise FTEs including performance and departmental accomplishments to meet facility and regulatory requirements
Promoteteamwork with physicians and all health care providers
Act as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians and employees to ensure high-quality patient care
Manageunit supplies and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize costs
Interfaceswith the nursing schools and participates in curriculum development and provides clinical instructors when resources available
Servesas a preceptor for students in graduate nursing programs

FL RN Licensure, or Recognized CompactLicensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/notlimited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
Bachelor's degree/BSNrequired, MSN preferred
3 years current managerial experience in an acute care setting
Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and customerservice skills required
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for applicable Regulatoryagencies such as JCAHO, AHCA, OSHA
