We're looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team.

You will report directly to the Director of Operations and will maintain primary control and professional management of each patient. You will act as primary liaison between physician, patient/family and hospice team.

  • You'll provide direct patient care services to hospice patients and supportive care to the patient's family with a reasonable case load

  • You'll manage an interdisciplinary group consisting of Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and support staff to enhance the quality of hospice care

  • You'll evaluate patient/family needs and assist in the preparation and execution of the plan of care for each patient

  • You'll maintain all assigned patient clinical records

  • You'll participate in company quality assessment and performance improvement programs

About You

  • Compassionate, kind and empathetic to your patients and their families
  • A current RN license (in the state of requested employment or ability to obtain)
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or oncology preferred

Job Summary: The primary function of a Registered Nurse is to promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with and directing other unit staff to ensure optimal patient care is given, collaborating with physicians and providing physical and psychological support to patients and families. Report To: Director of Nursing Responsibilities PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION Job Duties: * <li>Accurately processes physician orders * Provides nursing care according to physician / extenders orders * Provides nursing care in conformance with established standards and nursing policies * Performs accurate initial nursing assessment * Performs ongoing nursing assessment * Notifies physician/nurse practitioner of significant changes in the patient * Documents complete nursing progress notes * Educates patient on medical tests, procedures, medications, and other items as appropriate and documents same * Explains planned therapy and treatment to the patient * Utilizes correct hand washing techniques * Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions * Accurately administers medications * Maintains accurate inventory of controlled substances * Correctly performs dressing changes * Provides direction and leadership in patient care to assigned personnel * Responds therapeutically to inappropriate patient behaviors * Demonstrates ability to teach peers new procedures * Notifies appropriate staff of all extra ordinary events on shifts * Participates as member of Disaster Team, if full time * Provides leadership to facility during evening nights and weekends * Other Job Duties – As Assigned Qualifications Job Requirements: * <li>Graduate from an accredited ADN program * Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state in which the facility is located or compact multi-state license. * Considerable knowledge / experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices and procedures. * Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours. * If PRN status, must be available to work any shift needed, with at least 1 weekend shift per month and 1 holiday per year * Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within 60 days of hire * American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire    * Valid driver license and insurable driving record (refer to Guidelines for Driving Company Vehicles)   * If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years sustained recovery AAC is committed to principles of equal opportunities for all employees.
