We're looking for a PRN/Flex Registered Nurse to join our team.

You will report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director or Patient Care Manager Senior and will maintain primary control and professional management of each patient. You will act as primary liaison between physician, patient/family and hospice team.

  • You'll provide direct patient care services to hospice patients and supportive care to the patient's family with a reasonable case load

  • You'll manage an interdisciplinary group consisting of Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and support staff to enhance the quality of hospice care

  • You'll evaluate patient/family needs and assist in the preparation and execution of the plan of care for each patient

  • You'll maintain all assigned patient clinical records

  • You'll participate in company quality assessment and performance improvement programs

About You

  • Compassionate, kind and empathetic to your patients and their families
  • A current RN license (in the state of requested employment or ability to obtain)
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or oncology preferred

This role requires full COVID-19 vaccination.

The RN is responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice, which includes managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment on the unit, and for the promoting collaboration with all members of the health care team.</p><p>Job Specific Responsibilities:</p><p>The Registered Nurse will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.</p><p>The Registered Nurse accurately assesses the needs of assigned patients using sound judgement and critical thinking and documentation reflect timely comprehensive and systematic patient assessment. Plans of care and documentation reflect specific and measurable outcomes, education, and family involvement in the case.</p><p>The RN recognizes crisis situations and intervenes immediately. Interventions and responses are accurately documented.</p><p>The RN will demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability in collaborating with physicians and other members of the health care team to establish and achieve desired patient outcomes and promote continuity of care.</p><p>The RN delegates work to other team members as appropriate; evaluates team and provides direct care.</p><p>The RN demonstrates responsibility for their own competency (see Competency Matrix), mandatories by maintaining all personal performance and competency assessment data up to date, attends all required programs and meets ABN CEU requirements.</p><p>The RN participates in the development and implementation of unit Specific Skills Fair.</p><p>The RN has the ability to function as a charge nurse on unit hired, within six months of hire date.</p><p>The RN adheres to and consistently supports professional standards and health care regulations that provide for and promote safety, quality patient care and patient satisfaction.</p><p>The RN demonstrates responsibility for maintaining knowledge base of current unit and hospital communication through a variety of modalities including but limited to communication books, posted notices, meeting minutes, Jackson Hospital intranet and Jackson Hospital email.</p><p>Unrestricted AL or Multi State RN license and BLS</p><p>Must have 1 years of recent hospital experience</p><p>Education: Basic nursing education required for RN licensure</p><br> Jackson Hosptial & Clinic Montgomery AL
