Registered Nurse Bed Management Coordinator
The Bed Management Coordinator (BMC) coordinates the assignment of patient care beds within the hospital. The BMC performs initial admission screens using approved clinical criteria to assure patient admissions and bed assignments are consistent with current policy and procedure. The BMC works in collaboration with multiple departments within the hospital and facilitates bed management meetings with hospital staff to identify and communicate bed utilization issues. The BMC will identify, trend, and report barriers to patient throughput. The BMC plays a key role in establishing relationships and communication with transferring facilities and tracking transfer information.
