Registered Nurse Circulator

Responsibilities:

• Respond to patient needs and requests as they arise in a timely manner.
• Verify and document vital signs, intake and output records; administer medication, such as taking blood pressure, administering pain medication and antibiotics.
• Present information to patients and families that helps to decrease potential trauma and stress.
• Take patients' histories, explain surgical procedures, and assist patients through recovery.
• Provide advice to patients about how to care for themselves after returning home.
• Follow infection prevention guidelines.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Communicate with other healthcare providers as needed.
