FT Nights# Departmental Description The Cath Lab serves as an invasive diagnostic support unit for adult cardiologist, interventional radiologist and pulmonologist for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and vascular related diseases.# #The following nursing diagnostic and therapeutic modalities are used to facilitate nursing care: nursing assessment and individualized care planning, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, safety management, skin care, respiratory care, moderate sedation for procedures, psychosocial care, patient and family education, infection control, and medication administration. Patient care providers include Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Scrub Techs, and Radiology Technicians. Physician coverage will consist of both private and faculty attending physicians and resident physicians.# Ancillary departments also available will include, but not limited to, Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Social Services, Nursing Support Services, Pastoral Care, and Patient Relations. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures offered include, but not limited to, Pacemaker insertion/change out, Temporary pacemaker insertion, ICD insertion, Bi-Ventricular pacemaker insertion, IABP insertion, IVC filter placement, Aortic Grafts, Cardioversion, Carotid stents, Thrombolytic therapy for coronary/peripheral use, Swan Ganz catheter insertion.# Angioplasty coronary/peripheral, coronary and peripheral laser intervention, Impella cases.# Right and left heart catheterizations, peripheral angiogram , heart catheterization or any procedure requiring serial angiography, vascular or cardiac fluoroscopy (with or without contrast). Electrophysiology studies including those utilizing Cardiac Mapping, ablation procedures using RF or Cyro techniques. Responsibilities Must maintain a current CPR certification from American Heart Association Provides professional nursing care to patients and provides supervision and guidance to the members of the nursing staff. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The major services provided include: o## Performance Improvement Patient Safety (PIPS) o## Outreach and Education o## Injury Prevention o## Trauma and Burn Registry o## Emergency Preparedness Function: The Trauma and Burn Service Department function is to provide oversight and facilitation for optimal care of the injured patient throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities Must maintain a current CPR certification from American Heart Association Provides professional nursing care to patients and provides supervision and guidance to the members of the nursing staff. Must complete the Advancement of Automotive Medicin#e (AAAM)- Injury scaling course within 1st year Complete ATS-Trauma Registrar course with 1st year.
