Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patient in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all patients.


  • Assess and evaluate individuals emotional, psychological and medical needs

  • Ability to work amidst stressful situations and psychiatric and medical crises

  • Present good judgment of complicated decisions and ability to account for outcome of decisions

  • Complete Level of Care assessment and determine appropriateness of admission to hospital based on clinical and financial criteria

  • Verbal and written communication is of utmost importance due to the constant interaction with patients, guardians, referral sources, community agencies and insurance agencies

  • Skills to be able to effectively interact with patients, physicians and practitioners, families and other hospital personnel

  • Capable of evoking deep thinking on a subject from others

  • Presents with firm and constant support for the department and hospital

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.


  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN preferred.

  • Prefer one year of nursing experience with behavioral health populations.

  • Prefer one year of admissions in a hospital.

  • Current RN license as required by state.

  • CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Overview We're looking for a Registered Nurse, Admissions (Hospice) to join our team. You will report directly to the Admissions Manager. You will be responsible for explaining the Company's services to patients and families in a manner that results in the admission of appropriate patients. * You will as an RN utilize the nursing process to contribute to each patient's total plan of care. * You will visit patients and families in their place of residence or in the hospital to assess for appropriateness, explain services, monitor condition, or admit to hospice services in accordance with the admission procedure. * You will participate in evening/weekend on-call as required.
