The Registered Nurse will be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: demonstrating leadership through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of professional nursing practice. Nursing care is provided to the individual patient, based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates effective, safe clinical practice and effective medication administration

  • Appropriate delegation and supervisor of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.

  • Effective communication with other members of the healthcare team to promote a collaborative environment of care.

  • Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence-based practice.

  • Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patients record to meet standards.

  • Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility.

  • Provides patient, family and/or caregiver education as directed by plan of care.

  • Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual needs.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an approved school of nursing

  • BSN preferred

  • Current Florida RN license.

  • Current AHA BLS/CPR required.

  • Acute care mother/baby experience preferred.

Primary Accountabilities * Provides care to patients in a clean and safe environment. * Demonstrates accurate order transcription and communicates vital information to the appropriate staff. * Orders received are initiated in a timely manner. * Utilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry and order inquiry. * Maintains census board on the nursing unit with appropriate accurate information. Maintains Patient chart order. * Monitors for History and Physical compliance. * Facilitates response to call lights within a timely manner. * Demonstrates Super User ability with computer software applications. * Admits, discharges and transfers patients in a timely manner. * Collects, records, and reports accurate patient information. * Coordinates appointments and transportation as needed for patients. * Responds to call light in a timely manner. Qualifications * Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. * Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License * Previous experience in a healthcare setting. * Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. * Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. * Must be able to speak/understand the written and verbal instructions of the English language. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. * Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range. * Must be able to lift, turn, pull, or push equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift. * Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift * Potential for exposure to biohazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases.
