Full-Time Registered Medical Assistant

Hiring Range: $18.13 - $21.75 per hour

As a Registered Medical Assistant at Kitsap Mental Health Services, you will provide crucial support to medical providers and clients, ensuring timely and comprehensive care interventions. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with vital sign recording, lab tests, medication refills, scheduling, and facilitating communication between healthcare providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record vital signs, complete lab orders, CLIA waived lab tests, and track lab results as requested by psychiatric medical providers.

• Submit and monitor the status of necessary prior authorizations and assist with medication refills.

• Utilize approved external resources to obtain progress notes, diagnoses, view laboratory results, and verify insurance coverage information.

• Communicate key client health needs to care team members for comprehensive care coordination and treatment planning.

• Assist with gathering and tracking health information and accurately entering data into the electronic medical record.

• Facilitate timely communication with primary and specialty medical care providers, acute care hospitals, inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, and emergency departments.

• Manage all scheduling needs for the assigned medical provider.

• Provide information and education to clients to support their understanding of health and self-management capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)

LICENSURE: Current Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) credential with Washington State Department of Health. AAC (Agency Affiliated Counselor) certification with WA State is required within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED and completion of Medical Assistant training program

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Experience with EMR and data tracking and ability to read data reports.
