The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for Bobcat Athletics will provide nutrition counseling and nutrition therapy and education to individual student athletes, teams and coaches. The dietitian will have ownership of the Fieldhouse and BAC fueling stations, managing them in an organized and food safe manner.
This includes maintenance, stocking and distribution of nutritional supplements to approximately 400 student-athletes. The dietitian will make informed decisions regarding athletes' nutrition, hydration and sleep, both in and out of season.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage a system for administration of athletics nutrition program and fueling stations, including:
Budgeting, purchasing, billing, inventory, service, management, food safety, menu development. ·
Provide expert nutrition education and counseling limited to a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist:
Assessment, including NCAA regulations on supplements
Designing objectives - learning, interventions, monitoring, evaluating (Nutrition Care Plan)
Individual and/or group education ·
Work with student-athletes and assist them in nutrition decisions, including specialized care for eating disorders, food allergies etc.
Work with coaching staffs to formulate sport specific nutrition program needs, including but not limited to pre- and postgame meal needs, recovery, and education for staff and student-athletes.
Work with the Strength Staff and Athletic Training staff for nutrition planning for specific training goals.
Supervise graduate assistant and student worker positions.
Participate in the athletic department's annual budgeting process.
Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and the Athletic Director
Required Qualifications
Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition or related field.
Registered Dietitian Certification through Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Experience working with sports teams developing and executing nutritional programs and providing education to coaches, staff and players/student-athletes.
Experience communicating with numerous constituencies in a professional and effective manner.
Experience managing staff
Experience managing a nutrition and fueling station budget.
Excellent written communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Nutrition or related field.
National Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS or CSCCA).
Food service experience.
Experience working in a NCAA Division 1 nutrition program.
Understanding of NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and regulations.

This individual must possess high ethical standards, extreme attention to detail, integrity and a willingness to exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, University and departmental rules and regulations.
Must be willing to work as a team member with coaches, athletic staff, student-athletes and several institutional departments.
Excellent budget management skills.
