Sodexo Healthcare seeks a registered dietitian to join its team of clinicians at Riverside Community Hospital Located in Riverside County, California.

Riverside Community Hospital (RCH) is a 478 licensed bed, full-service acute care hospital in the heart of the Inland Empire. With over 500 physicians on staff, representing over 200 specialties and over 1,700 employees, Riverside Community Hospital is an Inland Empire leader in providing advanced, comprehensive health care to the Inland region. RCH houses one of the largest Emergency Room and Trauma Centers in the Inland Empire at 50 beds. RCH is one of Riverside County's only STEMI (heart attack) receiving centers and is a fully accredited Chest Pain Center. Other Centers of Excellence include the Heart Care Institute, offering invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures, the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center, the Transplant Program, and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Through the years, Riverside Community Hospital has branched out other services available are a Transplant Program, Cancer Center, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Trauma Center and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. With a wide variety of services, the Clinical Dietitian is well utilized by the medical and ancillary staff to utilize his/her skills as the nutrition expert and provide the necessary nutrition interventions to the patients and clients of the hospital.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the selected candidate will:

  • Be a registered dietitian with at least 1 year of acute care experience

  • Have the ability to be flexible and willing to work in all areas of the hospital.

  • Be responsible for conducting nutrition care and patient assessments to the patient population with a variety of disease states as needed.

  • Have experience utilizing the nutrition care process, and electronic medical records charting.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Be able to work well with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff and collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently and be outcome focused.

  • Have good time management skills, be a self-starter

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services

Key Duties-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.

  • Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.

  • Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience

  • 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian

Job Summary We are seeking a full-time Nutrition Care Manager / Dietitian to join our Nutrition Team to work in a continuing care retirement community setting in Redlands, CA. Monday-Friday, day shift with rotating weekend, holiday and special event coverage as needed. The Nutrition Care Manager will provide clinical nutrition services to residents as well as leadership for the Dining Services team members. Key Responsibilities: * Provides clinical nutrition services including nutrition assessment, modified diet formulation, self-management training and nutrition intervention to residents. * Assesses the nutritional status of residents through documentation in the medical record. * Advises department on resident care and food service matters. * Provides supervision and assistance, as needed, in dining rooms during meal service. * Develops, schedules and conducts in-service training classes, on the job training and orientation classes for staff. * Assists with the planning of menus with regard to nutrition, regulatory compliance, color, variety, general resident population preferences, and wellness/trends. * Hires, leads, directs, coaches, trains and develops the Food and Nutrition Service team. * Complies with all regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and accrediting agencies and adheres to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident rights policies. * Participates in facility-wide and departmental Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) Programs. * Participates in and attends departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs, as appropriate. * Complies with all policies and procedures of the facility, Morrison Community Living and Compass Group, as appropriate. Qualifications: * Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required. * Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable required. * Minimum of one (1) year of long term care and/or senior living community experience preferred. * Supervisory experience desirable. * ServSafe® certification required. If not certified, must obtain certification within six (6) months from date of hire. * Experience with computers and programs including Microsoft Office Suite required.
