Are you a Registered Dietitian ready to impact the life of patients in a large hospital?

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian 2 for Lenox Hill Hospital, a 652-bed facility located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY. The Lenox Hill Hospital clinical nutrition team is comprised of 9 inpatient dietitians. In this role, you will provide nutrition care to multiple patient populations including adults and geriatrics.

This is a full-time temporary position providing regional support to Lenox Hill Hospital for the first 6 months. This position is also benefits eligible.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for performing nutrition screening, assessments, education and documentation utilizing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) guidelines;

  • Utilize EMR documentation according to current standards, uphold regulatory standards, and evidence-based medicine, implement care plans and counsel patients and family members as needed;

  • Be flexible, reliable, knowledgeable and collaboratively work with a strong team of dietitians;

  • Work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, attend unit and clinical program meetings, committees and relevant activities;

  • Act as a community and clinical educator performing presentations on respective nutrition topics;

  • Be involved as a clinical instructor and preceptor for dietetic interns, new hires, and peers;

  • Collaboratively work with a team of dietitians in a challenging acute care setting;

  • Always project an image of professionalism.

  • Are Registered Dietitians with 1 or more year's of experience in a healthcare setting;

  • Have CDN credentials (or will obtain within the 1st 6 months of employment);

  • Are bi-lingual in Spanish (preferred);

  • Maintains excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups;

  • Brings strong time management and organizational skills.

Analyses data to engage in data driven decision making using data, logic, benchmarking, and leading practices in decision making to determine best solutions for the business.

Effective risk management by ensuring consistent regulatory and legal compliance.

Compliance with supply chain management requirements.

Understands and effectively manages unit finances in the Sodexo budgets.

Sets operational goals with key metrics and ensures quick analysis of variances to ensure a prompt resolution and mitigate adverse impact on our clients or our performance.

Delivers predictable top and bottom-line results at the site, relentless focus on driving efficiency, and makes difficult decisions.

Effectively delegates operational responsibilities to appropriate individuals / positions.

Follows best practices in decision making to determine best solutions for the business.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience

  • 3 years

Basic Functional Experience

  • 3 years work experience in facilities (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation) or food (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending) services, CTM, or Clinical Nutrition
