The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and other functions legally allowed in the state of Tennessee which includes chair side assistance, sterilization, scheduling patients, and other functions within scope of practice.




1) Duties with general supervision:

a. Mouth mirror inspecting oral cavity, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations and missing teeth

b. Placement and removal of temporary sedative dressings

2) Duties with direct supervision:

a. Obtains endodontic cultures

b. Dries canals, previously opened by the supervising Dentist, with absorbent points

c. Test pulp vitality

d. Place bases and liners on sound dentin

e. Removes excess cement from gingival surfaces of teeth with a hand instrument or floss

f. Sizes stainless steel crowns, temporary crowns, and bands

g. Temporary cementations and removal of orthodontics bands

h. Placements of orthodontic separators

i. Placements and ligations of arch wires

j. Placements of post-extraction and periodontal dressing

k. Coronal polishing if certified by the state

l. Experienced with denture impressions and try-ins for denture patients

m. Sealers placement, if certified by the state

3) Other duties assigned by supervisor

2) Maintains the highest professional ethics and is honest in dealing with people; is a model for all employees through their actions

1) Valid California RDA license

2) Current CPR card

3) Valid X-ray certificate

4) Ability to perform duties based on the attached performance evaluation factors

5) Demonstrate clear knowledge of Ampla Healths clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols


1) Must have neat and legible handwriting

2) Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly

3) Ability to communicate well with the public


Works well with patients in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirements:

1) Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels)

2) Able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring

3) Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS

4) Must have adequate vision to read x-rays

5) Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work. Must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting, turning

6) Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips

Our mission is to build stronger communities and improve health outcomes by promoting good oral health practices. </p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll also help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies.</p><p>As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you also have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you.<br></p><ul> <li>Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination</li> <li>Sterilize dental instruments properly</li> <li>Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history</li> <li>Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis</li> <li>Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)</li> <li>Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)</li> <li>Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures</li> <li>Take X-rays or dental impressions</li> <li>Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)</li> <li>Maintain documentation and charts on each patient</li> <li>Monitor supplies</li> </ul><p>Requirements</p><ul> <li>Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)</li> <li>Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment</li> <li>Outstanding communication skills</li> <li>A patient and friendly personality</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job</li> <li>Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus</li> <li>Valid licence to practice</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Company benefits provided after 90 days of employment. </p> Helping Hands Of Middle And West Tennessee Jackson TN
