As a four-time Best of State award winner, Kids On The Move provides services throughout Utah to children with special needs and their families. Our mission is to support the development of young children through five key programs: Early Intervention, Early Head Start, the KOTM Autism Center, Child and Family Mental Health and KOTM Respite Care.

We are currently expanding our Autism Center program and services throughout the state.

Our Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children and teens with autism spectrum disorder utilizing highly effective applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques. Depending on the specific needs of the child, services are provided in one of our clinics, in the home, or other community settings. Training and ongoing supervision and mentorship is provided by one of our Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA's).

WHAT BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS DO:

  • Make a different in the lives of children and teens diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder

  • Implement individualized programs and interventions that develop communication, play, social, language, pre-academic and functional life skills and reduce problem behaviors using applied behavior analysis

  • Collect accurate data and record all therapeutic activities in daily clinical notes

  • Arrive at all scheduled meetings and appointments on time

  • Enter all time on a daily basis and approve time card at the end of each pay period

  • Attend all required program-wide, team-specific and training meetings as requested

  • Communicate regularly with Behavior Analysts, Clinical Supervisor, and other KOTM staff

  • Follow all department and company policies and procedures, as written

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • $12-16/hour, depending on experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Ability to complete hands-on training and RBT certification

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Proof of Auto Insurance

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check upon hire and on an annual basis

  • Ability to pass a TB test upon hire

  • CPR and First Aide Certification within 90 days of hire

  • Capable of using technology, including iPads and Microsoft Outlook

  • Must be able to maintain 15+ hours with availability during hours client have services, which may include up to 7pm weekdays and Saturday and/or Sunday availability

  • This position requires the use of personal vehicle with proof of automobile insurance with $100,000/$300,000 minimum liability protection

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • At least 6 months of experience working with children with autism or special needs

SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally with staff and families

  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on level of importance and/or need

  • Proficient at organizing and managing work materials and work schedule

  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

  • Ability to resolve problems or differences of opinion within the appropriate chain of command

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Must be a team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. for brief periods of time

  • Capable of actively playing with children in a variety of different environments

  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to negotiate stairs or uneven walking surfaces

  • Will be frequently traveling around the community to visit client homes

  • May encounter some environmental health risks common to family homes, such as pets, secondhand smoke, etc.

  • May be exposed to some communicable illnesses in working with children and families

  • May be required to work irregular hours

Moreover, the IIS-DS collects data, summarizes the child's progress and maintains communication with the Behavior Analyst and Lead Intensive Individual Support Staff regarding the child's needs. AUTHORITY The RBT is appointed by and derives his/her authority from the people Chrysalis supports, the Area Behavior Analysts, the Clinical Director, and the Area Director. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: * Minimum of least 18 years old * Pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test * Possess the ability to speak, read and write effectively in English * Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Experience or Education: * High school diploma or GED * Six (6) months work experience using behavior analysis procedures with children with autism or evidence of equivalent experience and training * Completion of at least one college level course in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Special Education) Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Understand state policies and the Provider Code of Conduct, as well as Chrysalis' policy on Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation and Maltreatment * Communicate effectively with the child's family, as well as medical, professional, and state employees * Demonstrate good judgment and ability to handle difficult situations * Have excellent interpersonal skills working with the child and co-workers Training and Certifications: * Complete 20 hours of pre-service training on autism spectrum disorders, autism skill training, Behavior Support Plans, data collection and working with families * Complete annual CPR, First Aid, and OSHA training (All Employees) * Obtain and maintain SOAR certification (All Employees) * Obtain and maintain Food Handler's Permit (Utah employees) * Complete T.B. test (Utah employees) Miscellaneous * Serve as an official representative of Chrysalis and market a positive image * Follow the Provider Code of Conduct * Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director, Behavior Analyst, and/or Area Director Chrysalis Saint George UT
