The Regional Segment Leader is responsible for driving growth and expansion across designated Life Sciences portfolios within North America. The Regional Segment Leader will develop and implement strategy in close partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Segment teams, and maintain visibility to Key Performance Indicators. In order to drive expansion in markets, applications, and workflows, the Regional Segment Leader will manage strategic partnerships, influence new product introduction processes and launches, and partner with of regional sales and marketing teams on execution plans, content and tools, training, and follow through.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyze markets, competitors and trends central to the growth strategy for the business

  • Define solutions' differentiating elements for impactful sales value positioning in key markets, applications, and workflows

  • Generate and maintain solid relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) for strategic positioning, trend setting and influence, under a business partnership model generation

  • Propose new or improved sales positioning and messaging in key end market segments and communicate information to marketing for value proposition and content management

  • Define areas where product excellence and application solutions can generate competitive advantages

  • Facilitate VOC (Voice of Customer) process in collaboration with Segment teams in key markets

  • Provide leadership and support to the business planning process and ongoing performance metrics and reporting against business plan

  • Socialize awareness of industry trends with internal stakeholders

  • Support internal communication and sharing across Life Sciences Verticals to foster a solution-oriented approach to the market and customers.

  • Influence regional marketing roadmaps and priorities aligned with Strategic Growth and Expansion Priorities

Commercial Excellence

  • In partnership with the relevant Solution Marketing Leaders, propose specific growth activities within each assigned end-market, influencing field sales with strategic focus and business development

  • Support business plans to drive target achievement and support the growth strategy within assigned end-market via tactical plans for lead and pipeline generation

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers. Identify new customer opportunities.

Sales and Marketing Enablement

  • Work with Sales Leaders, Marketing, and Support roles to Develop collateral, tools, and content, to enable the sales teams to respond to market, applications, and workflow opportunities either new or in alignment with core growth strategy.

  • Partner with the Commercial Learning function to grow product / solution positioning knowledge amongst the sales and field application scientist team.

  • Support commercial marketing activities by leveraging KOL networks and Internal expertise

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years' experience working in commercial sales within the life sciences industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, PhD or advanced degree preferred

  • Experience in Product Management, Sales, Sales Management, Marketing in Life Sciences, a plus

  • Customer, Market and Competition Knowledge

  • Possess excellent leadership skills, proactive mindset with strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Execute managerial skills to enhance a determined focus on strong performance and teamwork to achieve organizational goals

  • Understand all facets of a P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement

  • Commercial acumen to help with market, product, customer strategy as well as selling skills in product line marketspace with relevant experience

  • Strong communication skills, including presentation skills
