BASIC FUNCTION:

The Pressure Sewer Specialist will have direct responsibility for growing their assigned territory by working with our Channel Partners and Engineering firms to drive Barnes product specifications over the competition while reporting to the Pressure Sewer Market Manager. The Pressure Sewer Specialist will have direct responsibility for established revenue targets and accountability for aggressive organic growth to become the leading supplier in their assigned territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • The Pressure Sewer Specialist will be expected to elevate the assigned territory performance with respect to sales and margin growth, productivity, policy, and business practices. In doing so, this person will work closely with the Market Manager as well as the engineering support team.

  • Lead the efforts to develop and deliver upon a multi-year strategic plan for the territory assigned Pressure Sewer product line to achieve profitable growth and sustainable competitive advantage across diverse market segments and sales channels.

  • Develop and lead major initiatives to achieve aggressive organic growth by selling CP&S basin packages and separate grinder pumps through domestic distributors on a resale basis for small projects and grinder pump replacements.

  • Create and maintain on-going initiatives and action plans to stimulate organic growth through business modeling (rationalization), portfolio management, forecasting, competitive assessment and pricing, voice of the customer, manufacturing requirements, and financial objectives required to support the strategic objectives.

  • Resolve day-to-day internal and/or external challenges or complaints while anticipating and preventing potential conflicts.

  • Comply with, and administer all company policies and procedures throughout the Crane Pumps & Systems product lines.

  • Position requires approximately 50-60% travel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field

  • A minimum of five years' experience Sales/Marketing; pump application experience preferred

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to adapt to change

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills

  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven ability to effectively present products and solutions to customers and to successfully close sales opportunities - not afraid to ask for the sale

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems; understands how the area's business activities fit into the CP&S Strategic Plan; ability to forecast downstream implications of decisions

  • Demonstrates sound judgment with respect to all behaviors that impact his/her role within the company

  • Excellent product knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal language skills
