We currently have an opportunity for a Machine Control Technical Sales Representative in a territory that includes MI, IN, IL, & WI, with possible adjacent states. Candidates should have extensive experience with industry grading, excavating and construction surveying practices. Knowledge and experience using or selling auto-levels, rotating lasers, robotic total stations, GNSS and Machine Control (2D & 3D applications). Some experience or skill in operating heavy equipment is beneficial
Regional Sales Manager and Technical Sales Machine Control (Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Nashville)
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
Increase market share by finding, signing, and developing new distributors for Leica machine control; and by training, guiding and developing existing distributors to help grow their sales in the region.
Assist existing Dealer Sales Representatives by providing product and application training; job site demonstrations, installation scheduling, assist in field troubleshooting; may need to assist in installations from time to time.
Provide input on competitive products and activities
Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to promote continued growth of Leica Machine Control and Construction product portfolio and achieve sales targets
Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations
Present and demonstrate the Machine Control systems product range and associated benefits for customers and dealers
Negotiate sales contracts and associated product supply milestones
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and in particular, customer needs and requirements
Supervise implementation of new products and features
Represent Leica in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Marketing Communications Group
Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required
Assist in the development of sales / marketing tools and reports
Liaise with Finance department for management of receivables
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of 5-15 direct reports, ranging from customer-facing outside salespeople to dealer managers.
Set goals, monitor, support, provide feedback and coach team direct reports
Responsible for people development and performance management of direct reports
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and practices
Communicate and facilitate Sales management process
Ensure that actions and decisions are aligned to the company's values and strategy

A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Civil or Surveying Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
Strong mechanical aptitude must have experience with machine control (2D & 3D applications), GPS/Robotic total stations, 2D & 3D applications
2+ years of sales experience with John Deere/Topcon/Trimble/Caterpillar/Leica Machine Control technology
Strong aptitude in Optical and GPS construction staking techniques, site and road construction with demonstarted technical capabillity
Storng written and verbal communications skills
Previous experience with dealer development and selling high end GPS into the Survey and Construction market is required or direct sales experience for a technology company.
Familiarity with the Leica Geosystems product lines is a plus.
Experience with construction lasers, levels, machine control & survey equipment, a strong aptitude for sales along with excellent presentation skills is necessary.
Must have a fluent working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
