POSITION SUMMARY:

Sales responsibility for the Continental Trackman Rubber Track and Continental Specialty Ag Products and other ancillary products. This includes OEM and Distribution sales for these lines working closely with the Industrial Products Sales team members and KAM account managers, and related OEM distributor network. Furthermore, this individual will Interacting with related Commercial organization, Product Supply, Customer Service, Finance Development and Supply Chain team members.

Ideal candidate could be located anywhere in the West Coast, Pacific Northwest, AZ, ID, WY, MT, CO or NV. This role will include travel of approximately 50% both domestic and international. Domestic travel will include the following locations and/or other locations as deemed necessary: CA, OR, WA, AZ, NM, ID, Part of MT, WY, CO, NV. Most business opportunity is in California Central Valley in CA including Fresno, Stockton, Sacramento while growth opportunities are in the Pacific Northwest.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the Rubber Track and Specialty Ag Sales in assigned region (Canada and US sales)

  • Participate and support in all defined sales and marketing programs within the assigned region for these product groups.

  • Maintain and increase sales via distributors and OEM accounts for all Rubber Track and specialty Ag applications.

  • Interact with end users and OEM Dealers where Conti Products are used and/or there may be warranty resolution support or Product Training required.

  • Achieve and maintain best in class service performance by coordinating with commercial, engineering and manufacturing teams at ContiTech and related end users and customers

  • Win and launch new business on existing and new platforms by coordinating with commercial, engineering and manufacturing teams at ContiTech and at customers.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of current industry standards and performance needs

  • Maintain a familiarity of market landscape including market share, competitive offerings and emerging trends

  • Attend tradeshows to help identify new market opportunities.

  • Gather market intelligence data for North America Region and provide feedback to management.

  • Employ use of Salesforce.com, Business Funnel, SAP and any further tools shared and developed to help drive revenue / achieve AOP.

  • Manages sensitive, highly confidential, and proprietary information with discretion and the utmost level of integrity and confidentiality

Participate on committees and teams as required

  • Develop comprehensive growth strategies for Related accounts in assigned Region for Rubber Track, Related Products, and Specialty Ag Products

  • Collaborate with KAM, Industrial Products (IP) Sales members to increase market share in assigned region.

  • Execute pricing and product strategies for major market segments to meet short and longterm business goals

  • Maintain a familiarity of market landscape including market share, competitive offerings and emerging trends.

  • Actively communicate new product ideas in the areas of products, digitization and service.

  • Handle coordination and negotiations for all product quality issues for the Rubber Track and Specialty Ag programs in assigned region.

  • Manage all Customer contracts involving Rubber Track and Specialty Ag products in assigned Region

  • Developing forecasts for sales, margins and expenses on a rhythm set by the BU

  • Maintain a safe workplace ensuring observation of appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations; attend safety training relative to position; report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.

  • Perform light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Employ use of Salesforce.com, Business Funnel, SAP and any further tools shared and developed to help drive revenue / achieve AOP.

  • Develop and implement all training materials, and modules; Lead major customer and sales training events.

  • Accompany and support field sales on closing major new business opportunities including calling on prospective and existing customers and end users.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or related field.
3+ years' experience in technical sales or related field, Agricultural Product industry or industrial distribution experience is highly preferred.

Proven ability in successfully interact cross functional teams.

Proven ability to proactively initiate, develop and complete projects.

Analytical skills are required. Candidate must possess experience in understanding business P&L, financial analysis, profitability assessments, forecasting, and analyzing sales data with the ability to understand and react to market and sales trends.

Candidate must have a successful track record of developing and implementing sales plans and driving actions to guarantee continued success.

Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint is required. Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.

Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, problem solving, interpersonal and customer relationship skills are a necessity.

Must have strong negotiation skills.

Must be willing and able to travel approximately 50%, both domestic and international.

Essential Functions: Under the close supervision of a designated lead person or supervisor, as well as operating within established guidelines and procedures, the incumbent in this position works in a variety of field settings with close oversight. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Trapping / Survey and Eradication Activities – 55% * Safely operate and maintain a motor vehicle to travel to designated work areas. * Follow established protocols for trapping, survey or eradication work. Service traps, perform insect sweeps, visually inspect local plant hosts for target pest damage or conduct eradication treatments. * Remove suspect plant and insect samples from foliage or from a variety of insect collection tools and check for target pests. * Draw and follow maps when performing field activities. Use GPS technology to site-register and package samples. Maintain site location and sample integrity. 2. Document Work Completed – 25% * Keep daily reports of work completed, i.e. number of traps serviced, properties treated, acreage surveyed, samples collected and other information as needed. 3. Collect and Submit Target Pest Samples – 10% * Screen wet and dry traps for target pests (plant and insect). Examine contents of traps to make preliminary identification of specimens which resemble target pests. * Take prescribed action when a preliminary identification of a target pest is made which may include, but is not limited to, drawing a map of the find site, completing a Pest Detection Report form, and placing the sample in an appropriate container. 4. Interact with the Public – 5% * Initiate contact with a property owner or representative to conduct a visual survey, place traps or carry out eradication activities. * Briefly answer questions about the survey, detection or eradication projects and/or refer the questioner to the appropriate agency for information. * Interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner. B. Nonessential Functions 1. Vehicle and Tool Maintenance – 5% * Assist with the transport of vehicles to service or storage facilities. Perform daily vehicle safety and fluid level checks. Clean vehicle interior and truck bed of debris. * Clean, repair and store all equipment daily. Notify team lead or supervisor when equipment is in need of repair or replacement. III. WORK ENVIRONMENT Duties for the job are primarily performed outside of buildings. Weather, temperature, lighting and noise levels may constantly vary. Terrain may vary from smooth and stable to irregular and unstable. The incumbent may be regularly exposed to dust, pollen, moisture and pesticide chemicals associated with insect lures and treatment activities. Driving a vehicle, as well as entering and exiting the vehicle numerous times throughout the workday, is generally required. IV. INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS The incumbent in this position must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships; work well under pressure; and, work cooperatively with other staff members in completing assigned work and meeting required deadlines. Incumbent must have a valid driver license and acceptable driving record during course of employment. Due to the nature of the Pest Detection and Emergency Program, incumbent is required to be available for extensive travel, including overnight stays, and overtime. V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The incumbent in this position will be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis; use repetitive arm and wrist motions; bend, stoop, twist, reach (with and without a trapping pole); and, maintain visual acuity.
