Job Description Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Field Sales, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, exceeding sales KPI's, and developing AE's (Account Executives) within your assigned sales region.
Critical Job Functions:
Directs and supports sales representatives in identifying and securing revenue.
Provides ongoing training and development of new and existing salespeople.
Anticipates client and market opportunities and responds appropriately.
Builds a sufficient pipeline to exceed assigned quota.
Secures strategic level relationships with customers and prospects.
Communicates with sales management on forecasts, account activities, and territory strategies.
Maintains company's leadership position in the LTL transportation industry.
Makes recommendations on programs/methods to increase effectiveness of sales efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years transportation sales experience required
LTL experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years prior sales management experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of geographical area, competition, & economic trends
Ability to travel 50% of the time within the Region
