The Regional Sales manager will have a strong inside sales background, sales management experience, understand accountability, be detail oriented with a great deal of energy, have a sense of urgency and a very strong focus on results.Duties will grow to include but are not limited to:

  • Managing growth, closing deals and directing the day-to-day operations for a rapidly growing out-bound sales team
  • Assist in the initial and, as needed, ongoing training and development for the sales team, using the established company training manual
  • Monitor calls, coach and mentor sales team
  • Provide leadership to influence, develop, and enable sales team to achieve monthly sales goals
  • Instrumental in recruitment and dismissal of sales staff


  • Successful history of production in a goal-based environment
  • Ability to generate personal production and be your team's closer
  • Prefer a proven track record for managing successful inside sales team
  • Proven ability to achieve sales results as an individual and assist other sales representatives in reaching sales goals
  • Prefer a demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals by phone, as well as assist sales team members in closing deals as needed
  • The ability to create a positive work environment by addressing staff concerns, providing acknowledgement/recognition, being the LEADER!
  • At least 2 years of experience in an inside sales environment or extensive outside sales management experience
  • Ability in leading, coaching and mentoring employees
  • Excellent oral/written and interpersonal communication skills and very good administrative skills - must be proficient in Word and Excel with experience using CRM (Salesforce) preferred

The candidate is accountable for generating new orders by planning and executing sales transactions, which address and provide solutions for business systems needs. This position reports to the Electrification Power Conversion (ELPC) US Southwest Sales Director and can be located in Southern California, Southern Nevada or Arizona.</p><p>This position reports to</p><p>Sales Manager</p><p>Your responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Be responsible for primary outside sales and relationship interface for assigned accounts, as well as developing new accounts.</p></li><li><p>Sell DC, low-voltage products and services to include engineering, installation, commissioning, and aftermarket services into assigned telecommunication/data center accounts.</p></li><li><p>Achieve sales quotas by selling to new and existing customers.</p></li><li><p>Manage large accounts, specialized accounts, partners and 3rd parties.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and increase market share within region and assigned accounts.</p></li><li><p>Follow-up on qualified leads, perform marketing activities, determine configurations, develop proposals with Field Application Engineers and maintain frequent customer visits.</p></li><li><p>Compile all relevant data to determine the exact nature of the customer's business needs and develop solutions utilizing internal resources.</p></li><li><p>Serve as primary interface for assigned customers.</p></li><li><p>Drive account development, assist with sales plans and forecasting.</p></li><li><p>Present proposals which address customer requirements.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and/or direct preparation of service order activities correspondence.</p></li><li><p>Utilize CRM tools, maintain orders opportunity databases, develop needs assessments and distribute appropriate documentation to team members for cost estimates, contract preparation process, etc.</p></li><li><p>Negotiate price and finalize contract terms and conditions to &quot;close the deal&quot;.</p></li><li><p>Performs direct sales and marketing activities, including lead follow-up, strategic account planning, building relationships with potential customers, fact finding, analyzing business processes in relation to current systems, uncovering applications cost justification of new systems and applications.</p></li></ul><p>Your background</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of experience in Telecom, Data Center or related industry Sales OR a High School Diploma / GED with 10+ years of related experience.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 3 years of designated territory experience with required quotas.</p></li><li><p>Position requires the ability to travel an average of 60% of the time during a typical workweek.</p></li><li><p>The territory for this position is Southern California, Southern Nevada and Arizona.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of DC Power architectures and services for Communications, Data Center, and Industrial markets.</p></li><li><p>Proficient with Salesforce</p></li><li><p>Experience working within a consultative sales process.</p></li><li><p>Strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate with, and influence customers regarding major sales campaigns.</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills</p></li><li><p>Ability to influence others and lead small teams.</p></li><li><p>Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.</p></li><li><p>Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.</p></li><li><p>Effective problem identification and resolution skills.</p></li><li><p>Proven analytical and organizational ability.</p></li><li><p>Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US</p></li></ul><p>More about us</p><p>In ABB's Power Conversion division, our customers require reliable and efficient power that supports their growing infrastructure, ensuring that data flows 24x7, while optimizing their footprint, energy costs and operations.
