ABB is seeking a Regional Sales Manager responsible for sales of Large Motors & Generators (LMG) products and services within a specified geographic region(s) and assigned accounts. Evaluate customer requirements, and develop and implement sales strategies designed to satisfy those requirements while maximizing profits, improving performance and ensuring optimum levels of customer satisfaction.You will be part of an ABB business unit that offers a comprehensive range of reliable and high efficiency motors and generators for all applications.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities for sales may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serve as the Company's principal point of customer contact for business area units represented

Drive the sales of Large motors/generators within your area of responsibility. Take ownership and accountability for success at key accounts and within your region.

Communicate to the business units such information as forecasts of customer needs, resource requirements, shop loading and recommendations for value-added offerings.

Lead and manage the sales efforts of third party sales agents within your Region to achieve your individual and team sales budgets.

Actively manage your efforts via the company CRM tool (salesforce.com) and provide periodic reports as requested by your manager.

Represent the company when requested at key industry and technology events.

Cooperate and collaborate successfully with other ABB business unit and Sales organizations to win business and drive the success of our customers.

Recognize and communicate potential opportunities to the business units and assist them to take advantage of these opportunities.

Establish, build, and maintain long-term customer relationships in order to improve the Company's opportunities for sales and profits, ensure customer satisfaction and provide effective responses to customer requirements.

Coordinate communications among customers and various business units to ensure accurate, consistent and relevant information.

Manage, within budget, regional sales activities to achieve assigned orders, margins and related objectives.

Provide technical direction and review decisions of less experienced staff

Requirements:

Basis Qualifications:

Associates' degree and 10 years' experience in sales or business development

OR

Bachelors' degree and 8 years' experience in sales or business development

  • A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
  • A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors' degree in a technical discipline

Documented success with MV variable speed drive applications/motor packages
10 + years' of Industrial motor and/or generator sales experience

Experience with a hybrid sales organization (direct, distribution and representatives)

Sales experience with large multi-national organizations with global projects

Successful experience marshalling resources in a matrixed organization
