Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to join the Wattstopper Team in Los Angeles, CA, or Bay Area. Responsible for the development of the regional sales plan for electrical distribution (ED) and implementation of marketing strategies set forth by the company. Work with the Regional Vice President to staff the ED sales positions with qualified independent agents and/or directs on a timely basis; develop an effective, well trained sales force (agents and directs); motivate the Field Sales Force to high achievement levels through leadership; establishing and developing an effective network while growing key strategic account relationships.

What Will You Do?

Manage employees in assigned region including. Establishes and maintains employee performance standards.

Works with employees to set goals and define development needs. Provides ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines. Prepare Regional annual business plan for ED in support of company objectives and present to RVP and VP Sales.

Manage, update and implement activities and strategies to support the plan Develops direct reports and agency salespeople within the region to maximize sales efforts through the ED channel for assigned region Conducts sales presentations for ED and agents alike. Ensure direct and agency representatives have appropriate product, process and sales training. Attends local and national shows providing sales support and expertise with the BCS ranges.

Work in conjunction with the Marketing leadership and Product Managers to coordinate marketing efforts in order to maximize sales volume, product mix and margin. Develop key channel relationships to enhance market /product intelligence as well as creating opportunity, maintaining loyalty and continuity Performs other similar and related duties as required. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Education: BS or BA from an accredited university

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in Electrical Industry.

A minimum of 5 years of Managerial experience. Minimum 5 years experience selling to ED

Preferred Skills

  • MBA Preferred

  • Must have extensive knowledge of the product, geographic markets and channels we serve as well as electrical and or lighting industry as whole. Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must understand implement marketing strategy and manage teams to that strategy.

  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others. Provide leadership, guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives. Must be able to provide the right balance of guidance/support and autonomy, based upon employees' level of skills, knowledge and competence.

  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Fosters open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.

  • Creates enthusiasm and inspires teamwork and cooperation within organization and with other functions and Legrand entities.

  • Excellent skills in project management, demonstrated ability to make timely and effective decision, handle multiple priorities and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure high quality service is delivered on time and within budget.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.

The West Regional Sales Manager, Commercial Products is responsible for: This position is responsible for the development and realization of the Western Region Commercial Products sales plan. To achieve this, the individual will develop and execute a Regional Operating Plan (ROP) built on input from their sales representatives, agents, channel partners, electrical contractors, engineering firms and end-users in the commercial & light industrial markets that focuses on growth from end-user activities, channel conversions, specification influence and New Product Introduction (NPI) opportunities. Principal accountabilities for this role are to drive a Commercial Products growth plan through agent performance management, successful channel conversions for market share gain while providing clear channel alignment in the Western Region. This will specifically include creating sales alignment with other Eaton sales regions and coordination with corporate wide sales resources in the West. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and driving collaboration with our Eaton L-Comm team. Possessing technical product expertise with a specification mindset to impact end-user buying and spec documents on both existing and new product introductions is required. Eaton's Crouse-Hinds business Commercial Products line features a broad portfolio of electrical construction products most frequently used in non-residential construction. Products include steel outlet boxes, hubs, fittings and pre-fabricated assemblies among other products.
