This role will require building a team of Renal Sales Specialists (RSSs), with a focus on recruitment, hiring, coaching, leading, developing and retention. They will lead their team of high performing RSSs, as well as collaboratively work with the commercial team and their RSD peers to help Akebia achieve/exceed their sales goals. This position will report directly to the West Area Sales Director.
Identify and hire sales representatives
Build and lead sales representatives into a cohesive team
Coach and develop sales representatives
Provide clear goals and hold team members accountable
Provide frequent verbal and written performance feedback to their RSSs
Identify market trends and opportunities
Achieve/Exceed sales goals for the region
Successfully lead, develop and drive regional strategies
Actively participates as a member of the sales leadership team, to elevate the commercial effectiveness of the team
Participating in and executing national and regional meetings
Significant Travel Required up to 60% of time
Proven experience leading a sales team
Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of three years of pharmaceutical sales management experience
Commitment to a compliant working environment
Strong Communication Skills (written and verbal)
Specialty sales preferred
