Who We Are:

Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS) is a mission-driven national non-profit organization that was founded in 2010. We leverage technology and the collective power of people to deliver one-of-a-kind student insights and school-specific action plans that help schools, districts, and states increase and sustain the enrollment of underserved and underrepresented students in rigorous college- and career-prep courses. Our product/process deliverables advance equitable participation, belonging, and success so that students may thrive in their postsecondary pursuits and life goals.

EOS has partnered with over 800 schools including 5 of the largest districts in the country and has empowered districts to enroll an additional 52,000 students of color and low-income students into advanced academic pathways. Check out the short video: A Superintendents' Experience with EOS.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales, the REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR will drive business growth in our education vertical by connecting with new partners, build relationships in designated territories, and move public school district partnerships forward through the contract stage of the A4E partnership lifecycle.

Key Priorities During Your First Year

What You'll Do:

MEET AND EXCEED REVENUE AND PROFITABILITY GOALS (from $500,000 to +$1M by 2025)

  • Serve as an EOS ambassador; facilitate and pitch program offerings and its impact to school district Superintendents and Equity champions at school sites.

  • Recruit a new cohort (approximately 20 new public schools) each year -- provide the first impression of EOS, its mission and its partnership model to school leaders in designated territories.

  • Identify, cultivate, and nurture new leads in assigned territory -- execute and adapt regional sales plan to landscape and cultural climate.

PRESENT AND PERSUADE EOS's MISSION, VISION AND VALUES TO DISTRICT AND SCHOOL-BASED LEADERSHIP IN DESIGNATED TERRITORY

  • Build a network of district contacts at various levels; ensure that EOS is communicating with all of the decision markets as part of our sales cycle

  • Serve as an advisor to leaders, making connections between their goals and needs and our mission, partnership model and our tools.

  • Understand the industry as a trusted advisor to public school districts and partners.

  • Research the current market and understand how to navigate its complexities on a regular basis throughout the year in an often ambiguous market and environment.

COLLABORATE WITH NEW SALES OPERATIONS TEAM TO USE DATA TO DRIVE BUSINESS

  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure the timely signing of contracts and processing timelines.

  • Streamline and embed systems that help build the infrastructure and sales operations of the department.

  • Develop needs analysis to determine district/school alignment for potential new partners.

  • Continually track ongoing communications, status, and documentation in Salesforce-CRM.

Who You Are:

  • YOU BELIEVE IN EOS'S MISSION. You believe in EOS's mission to break down barriers to increase access, belonging, and success in rigorous college and career-prep secondary school courses for students of color and low-income students.
  • YOU ARE A KEEN AT SALES PRESENTATIONS AND MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS. You have a proven success at inspiring and influencing higher levels of management, such as Superintendents and other cabinet-level school district positions
  • YOU ARE AN OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATOR AND EFFECTIVELY PRESENT TO SMALL AND LARGE GROUPS. You excel at conveying your ideas and can adeptly address both small and large audiences.
  • YOU ARE RESULT-ORIENTED AND DRIVEN. You follow roadmaps to reach benchmarks and monitor progress to goals. You leverage technology and project management tools to mobilize others towards a common goal and vision.
  • YOU ARE A STRATEGIC AND BIG-PICTURE THINKER. You determine opportunities and threats through a comprehensive analysis of current and future trends in education. You see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way.
  • YOU CENTER INCLUSIONARY AND EQUITABLE PRACTICES. You are personally committed to redressing power imbalances, developing mutually beneficial and non-paternalistic partnerships. You seek expertise from non-dominant places.
  • YOU ARE A PERSUASIVE COMMUNICATOR AND FACILITATOR. You plan and deliver oral and written communications that are tailored and inspiring to the audience. You design presentations or prepare for a prospective client meeting by anticipating the interests and concerns of the audience.
  • YOU CONNECT POLICY TO PRACTICE. You use insights and data from the field, as well as your understanding of the regional educational and political landscape to drive priorities and decision-making.
  • YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL INITIATOR. You are comfortable with ambiguity. You have an ability to maneuver through a remote culture that is in its growth stages.

Travel: During your first year, it's anticipated that you will travel approximately 40% of the year. This may include team retreats, district-level engagements and meetings, and serving as an EOS ambassador at regional conferences and convenings. There is flexibility in regards to when travel takes place.

Is this you? We want to learn more about you! The application requires that you submit 1) a tailored resume and 2) three short written responses. No cover letter or additional materials will be accepted or reviewed.
