What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain, coordinate, and communicate occupational health and safety processes and procedures to successfully achieve company and customer objectives

  • Review, administer, maintain, and ensure compliance with company policies and various state and federal regulations

  • Proactively conduct safety evaluations in all sites to assess risk and determine if changes are needed in processes, training, visual tools, and equipment

  • Conduct onsite or virtual audits of facility requirements as it relates to occupational health and safety programs and initiatives

  • Review, analyze, develop, and communicate occupational health and safety programs and solutions initiatives

  • Generate and maintain required reports; analyze injury reports for trends and necessary modifications to PPE

  • Oversee PPE programs purchases in all facilities; oversee and approve all safety SOWs, work instructions, and forms

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field

  • 5 years of health and safety experience in a warehousing/distribution environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of supply chain and logistics industry

  • Knowledge of industry-related state and Federal rules and regulations

It'd be great if you also have:

  • 2 years of experience in risk management

  • Availability to travel up to 60% of the time

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong leadership and customer service skills

JOB SUMMARY Supporting our Airgas Specialty Products (ASP) Division, this role will manage the overall operations of two or more facilities that distribute anhydrous and aqueous ammonia (hazardous chemicals). With a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, distribution operations, maintenance, and capital expenditures, we are looking for someone to treat this region like they own it. As such, they will have direct accountability for profitability of branches in the region. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Manages all operations personnel in region in accordance with company policies by hiring", training", motivating", planning and directing work", managing performance and resolving associate issues so that assigned performance targets are met or exceeded. Oversee the operations to ensure safety", efficiency and productivity. * Works with management team to develop operating and capital budgets and coordinates capital expenditures once proper approvals have been received. * Manage the Process Safety Management (PSM) program. * Works with safety personnel to coordinate the procedures required for compliance with OSHA", DOT", EPA", FDA", and state regulations. * Supervise Branch Managers", Customer Service Representatives", and Field Service personnel including establishing goals and objectives for subordinates. * Resolves operational", manufacturing", and maintenance problems to ensure customer needs are met in the most profitable and efficient manner. * Develops", implements and revises", as needed", standard operational practices. * Ensures that the fleet is being used efficiently by monitoring the dispatching process. * Provides technical and operational support to sales force as needed.
