Job Description

  • Design and implement overall recruiting strategy

  • Prepare and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc

  • Source and attract candidates by using databases, social media etc

  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications

  • Conduct interviews using various reliable personnel selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule

  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes

  • Monitor and apply hr recruiting best practices

  • Provide updates to peers and the facilities supported

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a recruiter and leading a team of other recruiters

  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency based, stress etc)

  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check etc)

  • Preferred experience in healthcare.

  • Self-Motivated

  • Familiarity with hr databases, applicant tracking systems and CMS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Positive attitude and extremely organized

  • Comfortable speaking in front of a group

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: One of eleven senior executives reporting directly to the President and a member of the President's Cabinet, the Presidential Associate for Community, Campus Partnerships, and Student Experience (MPP Administrator IV) will engage with and advise the President on strengthening university-community collaborations and formal partnerships, including expanding connections and partnerships with historically underserved communities. The Presidential Associate will support the institutional strategic plan, including participation on committees and other activities in advocacy of community engagement that fosters student achievement and the development of a "college-going" culture. Reports directly to the President of Cal Poly Pomona, and performs executive functions as follows: * Consults with the Provost/Vice President for the Division of Academic Affairs and the Vice President for the Division of Student Affairs in the review and administration of campus policies and goals in building and supporting community partnerships and fostering student achievement. * Provide leadership for programs and partnerships to strengthen institutional capacity to expand student access for historically underrepresented or underserved and first generation students. * Promotes and builds upon campus-based student success partnerships across all divisions. * Works in close collaboration with the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. * Supports and assists in the development/implementation of institutional priorities as related to the University's strategic goals. * Promotes the institutional values of cross-divisional engagement for the benefit of students. * Works across the university in fostering support for historically underrepresented or underserved and first generation students in order to achieve the university's goal of an inclusive student success experience. * Identifies opportunities and programmatic initiatives that support student progress including data driven systems that identify and support students demonstrating academic-risk with intervention strategies and methods for continuous improvement. * Collaborates with campus leadership, and on behalf of the President, will assess student performance data, and identify trends to inform the development of student success and retention strategies, initiatives and best practices. * Works with the divisions to identify external funding opportunities to support underrepresented or underserved and first-generation student success. External and Campus Strategic Initiatives: * Serves as a liaison for the President's Office and underserved communities. * In partnership with the Office of Outreach, Recruitment and Educational Partnerships, responsible for strengthening relationships with K-12 schools, community colleges, and other organizations and will advise on pipeline operations and campus program development. * In partnership with the Office of Outreach, Recruitment and Educational Partnerships, identifies, promotes and advances creative and innovative outreach programs for historically underrepresented or underserved and first-generation students. * In partnership with the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Planning, and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, responsible for strengthening relationships with K-12 schools, community colleges, and other organizations and will advise on pipeline operations and campus program development. * In partnership with the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Planning, and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, identifies, promotes and advances creative and innovative outreach programs for historically underrepresented or underserved and first-generation students. * Fosters collaboration within and across divisions and feeder schools that result in higher student yield, retention and graduation rates. Additional Responsibilities: * Demonstrates leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support campus constituents and community partners. * Chairs and/or serves as key member of high priority committees and task forces, partnering with members of the campus and community to advance key projects & initiatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree from an accredited college or university. * Demonstrated experience in working effectively in a complex higher education environment. * Ten or more years of higher education experience. * Experience working effectively to create, promote and build upon campus-based student success partnerships. * Significant experience in building, maintaining K-12, community college, and community Partnerships aimed at expanding educational access and opportunities. * Significant experience in enrollment and outreach programming that aims at improving student access retention, persistence and graduation rates. * Demonstrated significant experience in programming for under-represented low income students that promotes an inclusive sense of belonging. * Demonstrated significant experience in fostering and building collaborations between Academic and Student Affairs for the purpose of improving retention and graduation outcomes. * Demonstrated experience in fostering strategic approaches that reduce institutional barriers that can hinder student progress and achievement. * Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community and work as well as experience working in an inclusive environment. * Ability to work effectively across a wide range of internal and external audiences. * Experience analyzing data and identifying trends and other significant data reporting. PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited college or university. * Prior relevant work experience in higher education and a demonstrated record of leadership in both Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
