Job Summary

Summary of Position:

The Regional Quality Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Red Metal Business Quality Team at 3 sites across the Midwest and East Coast. The RQM will work with functional leaders across the business to ensure that quality objectives are being met, as well as to promote a data driven Quality Culture where the appropriate emphasis is placed on Customer Satisfaction, Continual Improvement, Safety, and Operational Excellence.

Job Description

Join our amazing thyssenkrupp Materials, NA - Quality team as we launch our search for a new Regional Quality Manager! We need a dynamic leader that can cover three (3) red metal strip plants across the Midwest and east coast, drive quality performance and work closely with the ROM to ensure the growth of the strip business.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Manage the performance of the site's Quality Team members, to ensure that issues are being quickly and effectively resolved, as well as individual performance is maintained at acceptable levels.

  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities within the region to support the company's goals and objectives.

  • Establish quality strategies, assess competency, and identify areas where training or development are needed.

  • Promote, organize, and maintain a Culture of Operational Excellence, and Quality focused on exceeding customer expectations.

  • Organize and Lead Internal and External audits in coordination with the corporate quality team to ensure certifications are maintained

  • Support product and process launches using advance planning, risk evaluation, and standard quality techniques.

  • Maintain and manage the regions corrective action system to ensure that issues are being effectively and efficiently resolved, and so they do not repeat.

  • Provide clear communication to the Business about the status of the Quality Management System, its performance, and areas where improvement is needed.

  • Report out on site and regional quality performance, including analysis of trends, and issue resolution.

  • Identify areas where our teams or systems could benefit from development and develop business cases for pursuing those improvements.

  • Manage larger projects and initiatives within the business to support the quality objectives

  • Other tasks a defined by the business

  • 40-50% travel or as required to deliver exceptional support to our customers (internal and external)

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Familiarity with strategic planning, employee motivation, building trust, and creating effective organizations.

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Engineering or Business Leadership

  • 8+ years' experience in Quality Assurance or Control

  • 4+ years of leading and building exceptional teams

  • 4+ Years with demonstrated use of CI tools and systems

  • Experience in Quality Tools: TQM, SPC, APQP, PPAP, Gage R&R, Control Plans, PFMEA, Quality Management Systems (QMS)

  • Familiarity with ISO9001 Quality and Auditing Standards

  • Good communication skills

  • Management of time and priorities

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Use Business Management and analysis systems, such as: SAP, SharePoint, Salesforce, Job Boss, Power BI, SmartSheets, etc.

  • Coil Processing and Product Application Experience

  • Metal Distribution or Manufacturing Experience

  • Six Sigma Green Belt

  • Project/Program Management experience

  • ISO9001/AS9100 Lead Assessor Certification

Job Compensation

$110,000-$130,000
