WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Managing Director, Regional Project Delivery Lead

  • West.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive project delivery and excellence culture, with emphasis on client satisfaction, safety, quality, and enhancing margin

  • Provide all necessary direction to District Director of Projects (DDOP) (if applicable) to aid with effective project execution in Districts

  • Establish and implement standards, processes, procedures and tools for excellent and consistent project execution/delivery

  • Align with other support groups to provide proper risk management and execution of projects

  • Audit project performance throughout lifecycle to verify that project procedures and standards are implemented and followed uniformly

  • In conjunction with Regional Operations Managers (ROM) and operations, assess and evaluate performance of Project Managers and/or Project Operations Management (or equivalent) and adjust as required (PMAP management)

  • Review Watch List projects and engage on those which are technically challenging and/or risky. Instigate corrective action plans and mitigation measures as necessary (recovery plans/teams); and report on project performance to SVP PE&D for national rollup.

  • Work with ROM to ensure appropriate project reviews are being conducted on identified projects and any necessary follow up is completed

  • Participate in Escalated Project Reviews and provide feedback to SVP PE&D and ROM on root cause issues.

  • Participate in pursuit/initiation activities for projects meeting defined criteria or risk profile. Such activities would include Go, No-Go decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation strategies, pricing reviews, etc.

  • Work with Accounting/Finance Lead and Team to monitor and track project metrics to ensure that projects are performing "as sold"

  • Engage in PM and PD training, development, coaching and mentoring to provide continuous improvement of project management skills

  • Conduct "Lessons Learned" reviews for projects not performing or trending in a negative direction. Provide specific action plans for corrective actions to minimize or eliminate negative impacts or behaviors

  • Provide root cause analysis of projects that have failed to perform as planned

  • Work collaboratively with Alternative Delivery Group to ensure effective pursuit and delivery of alternative delivery projects

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Job Requirements

Experience Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with a college degree or equivalent experience in the A/E/C

  • industry with an established track record in meeting sales goals for a multi-state region.

  • Understanding of project delivery process within all end market sectors within the A/E/C industry

  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal oriented

  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes with a commitment to internal and external client service

  • Prior experience managing project teams and demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity, career development and training

  • Motivational; staff development mindset; excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills

  • Highly organized; detail oriented; skilled with implementation/ logistics

  • Budget management / enterprise business aptitude

  • Experience with change management, Collaborative, drives consensus, Strong communication skills

  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of traditional and alternative deliver opportunities

  • Established relationships with teaming partners, contractors and key client decision makers

  • Strategic thinker that can look at the big picture and drive strategy to achieve tactical objectives

  • Ability to listen to others and identify key issues from clients and silver bullets from technical staff

  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals and engender trust with high ethical standards
