We are seeking a Regional Process Engineer with these core strengths to support our seed production facilities in Texas and Arizona.

Regional Process Engineers are site based and provide ongoing support to multiple seed production facilities within a specific region. In addition to support, he/she will focus on facility optimization efforts to improve all aspects of our operations. The Regional Process Engineers have the opportunity to work with a broad team, cutting edge equipment and state-of-the-art facilities to truly make an impact.

The Regional Process Engineer will maintain a strong relationship with other Regional Process Engineers, Site Leadership Teams, ESH Specialists, Regional Automation Engineers and other site personnel at all assigned production facilities. The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in our business, courageously face new challenges and leverage the talents, skills and resources of other team members.


  • Lead facility continuous improvement and optimization efforts related to safety, quality, service and cost.

  • Support plant operations by tracking performance metrics, resolving production and downtime issues, planning yearly maintenance activities, and ensuring the site(s) are capable of meeting monthly, quarterly, and yearly business objectives.

  • Actively participate as a member of the Plant Operations Network(s) and Virtual Plant Network(s) to standardize and share process improvements across sites/regions.

  • Partner with the Site Lead to develop the site(s) capital plan, identify potential projects for inclusion in the plan, and be the site manufacturing representative on large and small capital project teams.

  • Lead efforts to Identify, evaluate and standardize new process technology.

  • Lead and/or participate in other initiatives as needed.

Qualifications Required Skills/ Experience

  • Home base out of our new Lubbock, TX production facility.

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar technical field.

  • Highly motivated with a results-oriented approach

  • Capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Capable of working remotely with minimal supervision

  • Ability to manage seasonal overtime

  • Good working knowledge of operations research, statistics and data analysis

  • 50% travel

Qualifications Desired Skills/Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering and/or technical environment.

  • Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean and Six Sigma

  • Experience with agriculture and seed manufacturing

  • Experience working in and/or leading in a matrix environment

  • Computer proficiencies including process modeling software, CAD, SAP

  • Knowledge of Process Control and Manufacturing Execution Systems

  • Knowledge of multi-crop seed production practices

Essential Functions * Perform electrical engineering design, review, approval and project management of street lighting, overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems, and new and existing substations; * Perform analysis of electrical systems including NESC calculations, short circuit calculations, load flow modeling calculations, (PSS/E) voltage drop calculations, transformer sizing, lighting calculations, capacitor application, overcurrent protection and coordination; * Prepare cost estimates and written reports; develop specifications for materials and services; promote and represent LP&L in personal contacts and presentations to customers, architects, engineers, committees and boards; * Supervise engineering staff as required to accomplish the tasks above; * Research and apply new materials, methods, techniques, and technologies to expand and improve the efficiency, reliability, safety, and quality of the LP&L distribution system; * Provide support, applications, and training for computer, software, GIS systems and SCADA systems (ACS); * Monitor, document, and recommend policies for departmental environmental compliance; * Monitor electric systems operations and respond to emergency call-out to assist in system restoration and customer contact; * Develop, monitor, and administer contracts for materials and services; * Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Completion of a bachelor degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field with an additional four years of experience in electric distribution engineering; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Valid current Driver's License Physical exam required Registered Professional Engineer Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: * The principles and practices of electrical engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas; * The principles and practices of electric utility design, construction, and operation; * Perform professional level electrical engineering duties. Ability to: * Supervise the work of others; * Communicate effectively with others; * Maintain records and prepare reports; * Use a variety of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet, database, CAD, and simple programming; * Use and interpret data from a variety of electrical and electronic instruments and devices; * Provide excellent customer service.
