General purpose of the job

The Plant Optimization Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operations of multiple ready mix concrete plants within a designated region. This role requires to have a strong understanding of the ready-mix concrete industry, along with expertise in process improvement, cost, and waste reduction.

Individual accountabilities

  • Monitor plant accuracy and speed to ensure each facility is meeting or exceeding baseline performance targets.

  • Assist in managing the overall maintenance program of ready-mix plants utilizing FIIX.

  • Identify and document plant component issues. Investigate to determine root causes.

  • Regularly conduct maintenance audits on plants.

  • Maintain accurate counts of spare plant parts across the network

  • Routinely support plant operators with plant maintenance activities.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization with the batching software system: adjust software to achieve maximum speed, minimize out of tolerance batches, and ensure mechanical and batch panel issues are resolved.

  • Assist in managing all aspects of portable plant mobilization and de-mobilization, and new plants stand-ups.

  • Assist plant operators in identifying and coordinating winter maintenance projects and sourcing parts/specialized labor.

  • Assist plant management with identifying safety risks on plant sites.

  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field or commensurate experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.

  • Experience or exposure to batching concrete and performing concrete tests in line with ACI Field Testing Technician a benefit.

  • Experience or exposure in process improvement and project management, with the ability to identify and implement operational enhancements.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle unexpected situations and make sound judgments.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production schedules.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.

  • Must be well versed with the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Education

  • Bachelor's preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Engineering, construction management, or a related field or commensurate experience.

Technical knowledge and certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.

  • Experience or exposure to batching concrete and performing concrete tests in line with ACI Field Testing Technician a benefit.

Annual Salary Range From $112.400 to $168.600
