Compensation and Benefits:
Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $56,183 - $89,941 Full Salary Range: $56,183 - $100,538 Annually, depending on qualifications.

About the Role
The Regional Park Manager at Barber Park is responsible for the daily operations, strategic management, and programming of a 109-acre regional park that includes an indoor sports pavilion, event center, sprayground, amphitheater, disc golf course, and scenic walking trails. This role requires strong leadership in facility operations, budget management, event planning, and staff supervision to ensure top-tier community services.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management
- Oversee maintenance, operations, and scheduling of park facilities.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Coordinate with city departments and contractors for facility improvements and regulatory compliance.
- Implement safety measures, conduct inspections, and address operational risks.
Budget & Financial Oversight
- Manage the park's $1.2 million operating budget and track revenue exceeding $260,000 annually.
- Monitor expenditures, generate financial reports, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Explore revenue opportunities through events, partnerships, and sponsorships.
Human Resource Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a diverse team of five full-time, one part-time, and 20 part-time employees.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused work environment.
- Provide training on customer service, safety, and operations.
Program & Contract Management
- Oversee planning and execution of park programs and events.
- Manage rental agreements for 150+ annual events and facility bookings.
- Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop partnerships with organizations to enhance programming.
Equipment & Resource Management
- Maintain inventory, safety, and operational protocols for all park equipment and vehicles.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of specialized equipment.
Public Relations & Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for community inquiries, concerns, and customer service.
- Promote park programs through outreach, marketing, and community partnerships.
Tools & Equipment Used
- Office Equipment: Computers, calculators, copiers.
- Hand & Power Tools: Chainsaws, blowers, weed eaters.
- Heavy Equipment: Mowers, trucks, trailers, tractors.

What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 4-6 years of related experience working in a regional-sized park setting with management and supervision of park resources and staff.
- "OR" Associate's Degree with 6-8 years of related experience working in a regional-sized park setting with management and supervision of park resources and staff.
- "OR" High School Diploma with 8+ years of related experience working in a regional-sized park setting with management and supervision of park resources and staff.
- Valid NC Driver's License.
- Experience in facility, grounds, and landscape maintenance.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience maintaining and operating maintenance equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience using EAM work order systems or similar systems.
- Experience in hosting and implementing events.
- Possession of a current Pesticide License.
- Possession of a valid CDL Driver's License.
