The Regional Facilities and Food Service Manager oversees both facilities management and food service operations across multiple K-12 school campuses. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of facility maintenance, food service delivery, and regulatory compliance. The Manager provides training, guidance, and consultative services to campus teams, focusing on maintaining operational standards in both facility and food service operations. This position also plays a key role in staffing, training, and long-term planning to ensure campuses operate at high-quality standards while meeting local, state, and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facility Management:

  • Conduct regular campus audits to ensure adherence to safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance of campus equipment such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire services.

  • Support campus facility managers in planning, scheduling, and executing facility-related capital projects and operating repairs.

  • Provide solutions to facility-related emergency needs and assist in capital expense and Operating Budget preparation.

  • Collaborate with campus principals on long-term facility planning, including major repairs, system replacements, and improvements.

Food Service Management:

  • Oversee kitchen operations across campuses, ensuring compliance with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines and all state and federal standards.

  • Support the execution of high-quality breakfast and lunch services, ensuring proper recipe and menu compliance.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of campus kitchens for food safety, inventory management, and production record compliance.

  • Review paperwork submission to ensure compliance with state claiming and meal pattern requirements.

  • Collaborate with school administrators and parents to resolve food service issues and communicate policies.

Staffing and Training Support:

  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of campus facilities and food service managers.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development in areas such as safety, maintenance, cleanliness, food service operations, compliance, and customer service..

  • Ensure continuous staff training on NSLP guidelines and all facility and food service-related regulations, processes, and procedures.

  • Assist campus principals with staffing decisions, including selecting custodial, grounds, and kitchen staff.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure all campuses comply with local, state, and federal OSHA-related safety standards and NSLP requirements.

  • Conduct ongoing audits of facilities and food service operations to ensure adherence to operational procedures, safety standards, and compliance regulations.

  • Hold regular manager meetings to provide updates, share training opportunities, and address operational challenges.

Long-Term Planning and Process Improvement:

  • Work with campus leadership to develop long-term plans for facility and food service improvements.

  • Continuously seek more efficient ways to eliminate waste, improve workflows and operations, both in facility maintenance and food services.

  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting inefficiencies in kitchens and facility operations, recommending and implementing practical solutions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in either facility management or food service.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire systems, and security systems.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or supervising food service operations, particularly within K-12 schools.

  • Knowledge and experience with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and state/federal food service regulations.

Certifications:

  • ServSafe Manager Certification is required but can be obtained on the job.

  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Travel between campuses (local, regional, and out-of-state) is required.

  • Duties may include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

  • Must have the ability to sit for extended periods; to enter data into a computer keyboard; to research identified job-related duties using the Internet and other resources; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
