Description

ADMA BIOCENTERS are FDA-licensed facilities dedicated to the collection of human plasma from donors. Human plasma is used to make special medications to help treat and prevent infections in patients.

Responsible for managing and monitoring all operations for assigned ADMA Plasma Centers. Responsibilities include ensuring production goals, regulatory requirements and customer specifications are met.

Works with customer service, product distribution, technical support, and training to ensure all areas are executed to achieve expected outcomes. Assists in the development of annual budgets and business plans. Monitors assigned Plasma Centers results and develops action plans to achieve budgets and compliance.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and employee relations. Develop and oversee community and corporate relations' efforts.

Qualifications

  • Responsible for overseeing all phases of operations at assigned ADMA Plasma Centers.

  • Performs routine center site visits with attention to building repair, staff performance, Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) meeting notes, quality indicators, IIRs, staff morale, and freezer condition. Records details of center visits and provides site visit report to supervisor.

  • Plans visits to centers to coincide with the PDCA meetings. Observe the PDCA meetings.

    Confirm the meetings are executed as intended to drive improved center performance to specifically improve production and production metrics. Provide feedback to the Center Director for improvement. Ensure all center management staff understand the essential nature of this meeting and its associated activities.

  • Assists Senior Director of Operations in establishing budgets and production plans for assigned Plasma Centers. Responsible for weekly production and ensuring volume and product quality are met.

  • Direct involvement with assigned centers in meeting established production by monitoring Actual vs. Budget production.

  • Oversee implementation of Center plans to meet forecasted budget in conjunction with assigned Plasma Center management. Includes analysis and recommendation on advertising, hours of operation, development of new markets, development of center team building, and addition of products. Makes adjustments as necessary to ensure success.

  • Develops staffing matrixes for centers based on production goals, specialty product, and special projects.

  • Monitors center staff turnover rates to assist in the identification of areas of improvement.

  • Direct responsibility for the fiscal activities of assigned donor centers which includes review and approvals in SAP, Dolphin, and Concur with routine reviews of performance with the Sr. Director of Operations and members of finance.

  • Ensures assigned Centers appropriately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), cGMP's and Specialty Program Guides (SPG) to comply with regulatory, customer, and industry guidelines. Works with Training Manager to ensure training programs are executed timely and accordingly.

  • Responsibilities require as needed management interaction other Plasma Center site managers, members of Plasma Services, Centers, Finance, Regulatory, Quality Legal, Plasma Sales & Distribution, It, Human Resources and Purchasing.

  • Responsible for ensuring Plasma products meet customer specifications by assisting the Senior Director of Operations with direct customer contact (telephone/visits). Participates in regular field visits (as needed) to key plasma customers.

  • Assist Senior Director of Operations in the development of site plans for new centers or center refurbishment and renovation. Oversee contractual arrangements for security, janitorial and freezer monitoring services. Plans and prepares for contingencies, such as power outages, weather, freezer breakdown, and staffing issues.

  • Select, train, and motivate plasma center managers through proper rewards, positive and timely feedback, and by delegating appropriate workload and special projects. Provide support and guidance to center managers on employee relations issues.

  • Routinely available to provide support and assistance as needed to include hours the centers are in operation.

  • Perform team assessments, which include donor payments, credit card & PCard transactions, audit, business issues, human resource issues, human resource record keeping, and inventories, in addition to the compliance audit.

  • Participates in Corporate meetings and programs as required.

  • Participates in corporate cross-functional teams as required.

  • Perform other projects as assigned.

  • Available for travel with short notice.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in sciences, health administration, or business management preferred. Extensive experience in health or plasma related field can offset degree requirement.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of five (5) years plasma center management experience.

Without plasma center management experience, a minimum of 8 years of comparable management experiences including multi-site management experience. Understanding of plasma center operations and specialty products preferred. Knowledge of plasma industry, regulatory requirements, and cGMP's essential.

Management responsibility for a multiple location operation is helpful. Progressively more responsible positions in a complex organization.

Other Essential Knowledge: Must be able to lead in a versatile, high stress, high visibility and regulated environment.

Must be able to manage in a multi-site environment.

Must be able to implement budget plans and evaluate financial data and prepare implementation plans based on this evaluation. Able to evaluate and interpret regulations and recognize the need for appropriate changes relative to training and procedures.

Must have excellent writing and oral skills. Must be able to prepare, deliver presentations and facilitate for small and large groups. Must be able to read, understand, and implement programs based on technical regulations and manuals.

Must have a strong customer service orientation and able to work well under pressure while interfacing with all levels of decision-makers including, customers, distributors, consultants, agencies and suppliers. Proven ability to motivate employees at all levels within an organization. Strong grasp of employee relation issues and human resource related laws and programs

Thorough knowledge of Plasma Center operations. Knowledge of all Federal and State regulations including CFR, OSHA, PPTA, and CLIA.

Must be proficient in automated systems including Next Gen (Applicable Computer System) and SAP. Must be project oriented, creative, and computer literate.

Contacts: Internal

  • Extensive contact with corporate departments and Plasma Center management and staff. Works with senior management and all levels of decision-makers.

External

  • Extensive and continuous contact with customers and outside agencies including FDA, State, PPTA, and European authorities.

Direct Work of Others: Employee relation responsibility for assigned Plasma Center Managers 75-80% of time spent on supervisory/oversight responsibilities.

Decision Making: Works on complex problems where situational/data analysis requires in-depth evaluation of wide variety of factors.

Judgment is typically exercised within defined practices and policies. Includes geographic dispersion of subordinates. Accountable for assigned Centers management and makes critical decisions affecting operational and business activities.

Implement and develop strategies to improve operations and ensure ongoing regulatory and customer compliance. Develop programs that ensure recruitment, development and retention of employees. Has financial responsibility for managing expenses and cost control.

Challenges: Meeting forecasted production and budget goals at multiple facilities.

Regulatory compliance. Responsibility for the health and safety of employee and donors. Employee relation issues at multiple locations.

Completing projects with short deadlines. Frequent distractions, interruptions and lack of control over resources. Multiple and competing priorities. Must rely on other departments for approval and completion of documentation and projects.

Working Conditions: Physical Demands

  • Sudden temperature changes when working with freezers. Must be able to travel frequently and without lengthy lead-time to center facilities within region.

Hazards

  • Exposed to sudden temperature changes when working in or around freezers at Centers; to various chemicals used at the centers; to human source products at the Centers.

Stressors

  • Frequent interruptions, multiple priorities, resolving subordinate personnel issues. Travel to assigned centers as necessary. Frequent meetings before or after work hours, especially while traveling; working time can exceed 12 hours per day.
