Title: Regional Maintenance Manager, Central California

Location: San Luis Obispo County, CA

Summary:

Reporting to the Pacific Regional Manager, the Central California Manager of multiple PV Solar power plants will have responsibility for all plant personnel, plant energy and budget performance, adherence to operating and corporate policies and programs.

The Central California Manager will manage the various components of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Program for a group of projects within a region. The primary objective of the position is to objectively maximize energy yield while maintaining a high long-term reliability. This overall objective will be achieved by effectively managing to the following:

o Health and safety performance

o Project performance management

o Employee training and development

o Work management system implementation and integration

o Evaluation of reliability improvements and technology

o Process development and oversight

o Budget development and compliance

o Clearway Internal Compliance Program (ICP)

o Environmental Compliance

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

General:

  • Manage the execution of maintenance and technical requirements for the site

  • Development and compliance to the annual operating budget

  • Manages the use of the enterprise asset management system (SAP) and assures the complete and accurate recording of maintenance activities and parts consumption

  • Monitors and manages the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools

  • Ensures completion of Technicians documents; outages, onsite equipment problems, log entries, site visitation; safety and environmental inspections.

  • Communicates regularly with Management and all site personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure effective two-way communications concerning operational and maintenance issues

  • Hiring of site maintenance personnel and employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution to the team

Supervisory Responsibility:

The Regional Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and direction to all plant personnel providing maintenance support including vendors/contractors.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Education/Experience:

  • Possess a 2-year technical degree or equivalent certification/qualification

  • 7 years of power generation experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Renewables

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and through written communication

  • Must be able to articulate sufficiently to provide complex technical explanations. Must be able to read and comprehend highly technical instruction books and manuals

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency for normal and abnormal operations at an electric generation facility and Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) Switchyard

Required Skills:

  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the customer's success

  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safe operation and maintenance activities at sites

Behavioral:

  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence

  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others

  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations

Technical:

  • Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook

  • Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems (SAP)

  • Experience developing and validating Procedures and Processes

Working Conditions:

  • Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas

  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment

  • Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)

  • May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals

  • Occasionally requires lifting up to 70 pounds, to perform duties and responsibilities

  • Work overtime and non-standard working hours (nights) as required
