The company seeking a Regional Manager of Warehouse Safety for the west coast. This individual manages, plans, and implements programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses across all of the ID Logistics Warehouses within a geographic region. Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization. Manages and coordinates safety activities in partnership with operations leaders to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization.
Regional Safety Manager Responsibilities:
Facilitate implementation of safety/security programs and practices within the region
Work as a member of the corporate safety team and manage safety and security for all assigned sites.
Apply best practices and actions to support sustained improvement and shape the Safety Culture
Act as a facilitator and consultant to the facility management teams.
Ensure facilities are working within all legislative requirements (Federal, State and Local) and corporate standards with regards to safety and security compliance
Provide direct hands-on support.
Provide counsel and advice on corrective actions.
Participate in and evaluate effectiveness of regular workplace inspections in assigned facilities.
Assist in preparation and execution of internal and external audits as required.
Meet with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.
Act as a resource in the development, review and delivery of safety/security training.
Encourage the continuous learning & development of facility team members through regular coaching and consultation and mentoring of new members.
Continuously upgrade knowledge and personal growth by staying abreast of industry developments through attendance at relevant courses and publication review.
Conduct presentations and program plans to management and corporate safety as required.
Provide knowledge, direction, and guidance to assist the facility management team with regards to safety best practices, elimination/reduction of incidents and accidents
Provide input to the development of location safety budgets.
Because this position is responsible for multiple sites, 50% travel is required.
Requirements:
5 -- 7 years of experience in safety and security in a warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environment
Experience developing and deploying safety training, practices and policies.
Ability to manage reporting processes for safety and security incidents -- including incident reporting, accident/incident investigations, and recommended remedies.
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels in the organization as well as with key industry and regulatory partners.
Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving and communication skills (oral and written)
Proven ability to carry out statistical/trend analysis to provide organizational feedback on safety/security practices.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Detail-oriented with a capacity for critical thinking and problem solving.
