Job Description Job Description Build and maintain customer satisfaction as the key contact for municipalities within the region. Provide consultation to employers on plan administration and funding, plan and benefit change options, employer education, needs analysis, and collective bargaining assistance.

Work with administrators, elected councils and boards, union groups, and specialty committees to explain detailed actuarial reports and concepts to promote plan understanding, short and long-term considerations and value of MERS membership Collaborate with members of regional team to ensure superior customer service and experience, participant and employer education and continued growth of region. Provide technical expertise and support to sense the opportunity, scope, needs and potential solutions for customers and prospects Ensure all service needs are being met for the customer Lead various outreach events, including regional meetings for MERS members and their employees Advance marketing programs and image through personal contact with municipalities and their member associations at regional conferences and trade shows Work in partnership with multiple functional areas as required concerning all plans, activities, projects, and other work-related activities Collaborate with actuarial vendor and internal actuarial staff regarding customer plan requests Ensure customer relationship management software (CRM) is kept current and complete for the region Remain current regarding laws, compliance issues, and general industry topics/events, including legislation Assist in development, planning and execution of new product launch activities Participate in special projects as required and other duties as assigned Have a thorough understanding of all MERS product and service offerings Interactions may involve controversial and high-pressure situations where an event is recorded/broadcast/streamed, or the media may be present Present a professional demeanor at all times Adapt quickly to changing customer situations Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales promotion, advertising, business Experience:

Minimum five years previous and related experience implementing marketing programs and account management. Licensure, Certification, or Registration: · Valid Driver’s License Expertise Knowledge of: Defined Benefit and Retirement Plan concepts, including actuarial, finance and investment concepts Skill in: · Business to business marketing Persuasive communication, sales and negotiation Customer service Planning and organization Listening Public relations Public speaking Ability to:

Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little or no supervision Manage multiple tasks and requests at one time Be highly flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment Provide leadership and team coordination Follow up and follow through with clients Maintain a professional demeanor Actively listen to customer concerns Maintain high personal standards and personal integrity Maintain a valid Driver’s License Be free and clear of any convictions under the Office of Inspector General Exclusions List, not as a condition of employment, but as an obligation to a partner organization Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform successfully the essential functions of this job.
