The Regional Manager is responsible for driving business and commercial performance for a portfolio of spirits brands across Connecticut. This position will manage a team of Customer Development Specialists who are each responsible for driving brand and commercial initiatives for the DIAGEO spirits portfolio in target off-premise accounts.
Reporting to the agency's leadership team, the Regional Manager will develop solid, long-term partnerships with our client's local counterparts and distributor network. This role will work collaboratively with all parties to identify commercial and/or execution gaps within identified territories using data, and motivating teams to attain and surpass established goals.
Core Responsibilities/Activities:
Utilize depletion data to identify and set commercial goals in conjunction with DIAGEO performance leads
Hire, onboard, and provide personalized coaching and feedback to team members, empowering them to enhance performance and exceed goals
Lead by example, building and maintaining a team dynamic that provides the space for Specialists to thrive, contributing to both individual and team success

Effectively pre-plan with team members to close gaps and execute trade programs
Travel within the assigned territory to work with direct reports 1:1 to gain an understanding of individual successes and challenges
Communicate regularly with client counterpart and distributor network to align on market execution approaches

Drive local team culture. Highlight team successes, drive support for local initiatives across the agency team and with local client and distributor partners
Budget Management. Manage personal and team budgets at state and individual level, including account support and T&E planning
Legal and Compliance Accountability. Enforce and monitor all legal and marketing code guidelines with direct reports
Identifies opportunities for growth through competitive, channel and/or consumer insights and presents intelligence to the team / greater organization and aid in the development of innovative programs and ideas.
Cross Functional Leadership:
Leverage the Agency network for cross channel training, education, and experiential (e.g., tequila dinners, launch events, etc.)
Leads key agency initiatives on behalf of designated team including:
Brand/category knowledge and business skills training
Point of sale management
Brand and portfolio programming implementation
Brand, market, competitive and customer insight curation
Local reporting efforts
Leadership requests
What Success Looks Like:
As a Regional Manager, you'll lead a remote sales team, spending three days per week in-market across the state
Your primary responsibility is to support and guide your team to achieve goals and drive commercial growth within the state
Delivery of program activities within the off-premise environment
Positive 360º feedback from manager, direct reports, and client partners
Effectively communicate local progress and success stories to both agency and client stakeholders, ensuring transparency and comprehension of achievements within the state
High rate of added value across territory (going over and above with our client partnership in the field)
High team retention rate/career advancement within agency network
The physical demands of this role require the following:
Bending, squatting, crouching and reaching, climbing, kneeling, and stooping including to arrange and display point of sale
Frequent lifting and moving cases of product and other objects of 50 pounds or more

4-6 years of experience in a field-based or field marketing role.
College degree (4-year) or B.A./B.S. equivalent with focus on Communications, Marketing or Business
CPG, spirits, distributor, broker, or Agency experience is a plus.
Management experience preferred
Adept at communicating clearly and concisely with clients, partners, colleagues, and other professional audiences
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Strong budget management skills
Deep understanding of market trends and competition activity is an asset
Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects, and work independently
Role is remote and requires time spent in market working with team members across the state 3 days per week
Must have valid driver's license, with clean driving record/background check
Must be willing to travel within assigned sales region
Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently
Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed
In this role, you will be provided with a Company vehicle which is to be used exclusively and solely for work purposes. Accordingly, applicants will be required to possess (and maintain during employment) a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as well as will be required to submit to a background check of their driving record. If hired, the employee will be responsible for using the company car in a safe, lawful, and reasonable manner and comply with Company policy and all other vehicle guidelines.
The base compensation range for this job classification is between $75,000.00-$85,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service and geographic location. This job classification is bonus-eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
