You will lead a dynamic sales team responsible for generating sales in the disruptive, growing point of care diagnostics industry, specifically in the Outpatient (non-acute) healthcare market. The sales cycle is highly-complex and involves multiple stakeholders that include, but are not limited to, internal Abbott representatives and our distribution partners. You will be responsible for providing leadership through direction, motivation, coaching, skill development, and knowledge sharing to lead your team to execute sales strategies that result in financial goal attainment, strong customer loyalty and staff development. You will continue Abbott's 130-year tradition of bringing new products and technologies to the world that create more possibilities for more people at all stages of life.
The Regional Manager is responsible for the Central Region, which is comprised of the following states: MI, OH, IN, KY, TN, AL, MS, GA, and FL.
Qualified candidates must currently reside in a metropolitan area in one of the states previously listed above for the Central Region.

Hire, develop, and mentor extraordinary sales professionals who execute complex Point of Care diagnostic sales strategies in non-acute/outpatient opportunities that address customer pain-points and maximize long-term partnerships with Abbott Point of Care (APOC)
Ensure achievement of sales and commercial objectives across assigned region
Profitably manage P&L; effectively and efficiently manage administrative duties
Synthesize customer and competitor insights, market and industry challenges, and APOC product solutions to drive long-term strategies and foster long-term customer relationships
Partner with internal colleagues to ensure your customers meet or exceed contractual obligations
Willing to travel 50% within assigned region. Overnight travel may be necessary.
The Regional Manager will lead a team of six (6) to eight (8) Medical Device Sales Specialists.
Build strong and lasting relationships with our Medical Distribution partners.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Associate degree acceptable with comparable and relevant experience.
Typically requires 7+ years of sales experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
Typically requires 3+ years of experience leading, developing, training, and mentoring direct reports.
Ability to travel up to 50% in assigned territory and other business locations in the USA.
Preferred Position Qualifications
7+ years of diagnostics, point of care (POC), lab, or capital equipment sales experience
Proven leader, trainer, and mentor of sales professionals within the hospital sales industry.
Established relationships with Medical/Surgical distribution representatives, preferably in the hiring region.
Documented history of being a consistent sales overachiever (i.e., President's Club winner).
Consistently ranks among the top 20% in peer sales group.
Has established contacts at IDN's and Hospital Systems within assigned territory.
Possesses strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.
Highly proficient at using the Salesforce.com, or similar, CRM platform.
Attended multiple sales training courses (e.g., Challenger, Miller Heiman, etc.), and is an active user of one or multiple effective sales methodologies.
