Jacobs is seeking a Regional Maintenance Specialist to join our Operations Management and Facility Services (OMFS) team. This position has the flexibility to reside in any Jacobs office in the Pacific Northwest with access to a major airport. Candidate must live near a major airport. Position will require 75% travel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assume a lead role in supporting maintenance and asset management efforts at all treatment facilities within the geographic region including Industrial projects.

  • Facilitate maintenance knowledge sharing between projects in the region and the company as a whole, including participating in monthly Maintenance Sharing calls and providing input and feedback as requested.

  • Provide technical support to projects in the region. This includes mechanical, electrical, I&C support and PdM as skills support.

  • Support optimization of treatment facilities maintenance within the region through benchmarking and key performance indicator analysis.

  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and project personnel.

  • Evaluate the projects' maintenance programs on an ongoing basis and provide input for possible improvements.

  • Conduct maintenance management and technical skills training programs utilizing provided training material.

  • Maintain technical skills at the highest level and remain informed of the latest developments in the field.

  • Establish cooperative relationships with coworkers, project maintenance and operations staff, clients, vendors, contractors, and all others contacted during the work.

  • Provide guidance regarding maintenance programs in accordance with the Jacobs OMFS Maintenance Resource Guide.

  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and mechanical illustrations.

  • Perform skilled mechanical repair work on industrial water/wastewater treatment plant and related equipment.

  • Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause and to prevent recurrences.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical machinery or equipment in accordance with skillset.

  • Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions.

  • Assist project personnel with replacing bearings, packing, seals, shafts, sleeves, valve seats, or other components found in plant equipment.

  • Use special tools, such as bearing pullers, torch, welding machine, hoist, or other equipment used in the repair of treatment plant equipment.

  • Assist projects in set-up and training for predictive maintenance programs (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, etc.)

  • Conduct condition assessments on project vertical assets and document assessments in the ACES software program.

  • Prepare, consult on, or review maintenance cost estimates and level of effort.

  • Perform ongoing project reviews to determine client satisfaction with past service and develop recommendations on the need for future service.

  • Assist in the development of project specific Capital Improvement Planning when requested.

  • Assist with project recovery efforts after significant weather events in any region as assigned.

  • Ten (10) years of complex and/or industrial maintenance experience. US Military training is acceptable.

  • Proficient in the use of CMMS software (example, Maximo, Maintenance Connection, SAP)

  • Highly proficient in the use of spreadsheet and/or database computer programs

  • Experience and understanding of budget preparation and financial accountability.

  • Ability to travel approximately 75%

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of industrial equipment maintenance and extensive knowledge of methods to reduce operating costs, improve reliability, and ensure permit compliance.

  • Water and/or wastewater equipment maintenance experience is a plus.

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per 8-hour shift

  • Must be able to ascend and descend up to 1,100 stair steps per 8-hour shift

  • Must be able to lift bags weighing up to 40 pounds each from floor level up to waist high in an 8-hour shift

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-13T00:00 As a Regional Technical Specialist, you are the front line of KaVo Kerr's customer interaction through daily service and support. In this role, you operate from home and commute to our customer sites throughout your assigned territory providing professional field technical support and consultation that supplements product sales growth. The primary function of this position is to support independent and major accounts, performing complex technical duties related to KaVo Kerr products by managing escalated issues and support dealer partners for service and installs in an assigned territory. You also serve as a mentor for other Field Support team members, handle customer escalations, and execute technical projects. This position will require strong interpersonal face-to-face, phone, and email skills and a strong customer focus resolving and troubleshooting customer issues. It will include troubleshooting/installing equipment on site with service technicians and solving application problems with the end user that may or may not be comfortable using a computer. This position requires working non-standard hours and includes travel that may occur on weekends when necessary. The role requires supporting and performing complex technical duties related to KaVo Kerr products, by answering customer/dealer questions or resolving issues in the field. This role serves as a technical liaison in an assigned territory that handles customer escalations, installs assists, direct installs and executes technical projects. This role requires flexibility in work schedule and the ability to work holidays and overtime, and travel 75% as dictated by business needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Territory development in conjunction with Territory Sales Manager. * High focus on the customer relationship and presentation of service activities/service offerings * Create and grow multiple aspects of our business through supporting regional and company goals. * Identifying, owning, and tracking any issues with an account, according to escalation procedure, to reach resolution * Point of escalation for troubleshooting of our products and services. * Ensure dealers in assigned territory are adequately supported for service and installs * Rapid reaction to escalated and customer down issues and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times * Own the customer issue to resolution and complete service documents * Provide reports to management * Ability to transfer acquired knowledge to Field Support personnel through established internal procedures. The types of knowledge transfer would utilize internal documentation, curriculum development, writing procedures and directly training personnel. * Mentor and support Field Support team members * Coordinate all direct installations within assigned territory * Ensure dealer technical training needs are met within assigned territory * Maintain records of dealer technicians that have completed training * Provides telephone technical support for dealer partners and end users * Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * 2 years of college or equivalent work experience. * 3-4 years of troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Windows operating systems, file structure, permissions, hardware peripherals, databases, and networks. * 2 years of experience in a customer facing position. * Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency. * Requires a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record as the position entails extensive use of personal car while on company business. * Must be willing to travel overnight up to 25%.
