This role can be based anywhere in the US near a major airport.
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is focused on sales growth of key accounts within an assigned vertical across the U.S. The KAM will develop relationships throughout key accounts with the goal of a partnership between Hach and the company or organization to develop lasting and meaningful relationships. This role will develop and implement strategic plans for targeted opportunities, including coordination of strategic actions across commercial and BU functions.
This position will lead 3-5 key accounts that Hach has identified and will mostly be aligned to the Food & Beverage industry.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Develop strong relationships with leadership, technical resources, and influencers within Key Accounts
Responsible for continued sales growth from assigned key accounts.
Work with all levels within key accounts to develop and maintain action plans for sales, service, support, and application development.
Map and direct all internal and external relationships based on customer needs and strategic priority
Submit annually a detailed sales plan identifying sales objectives, new sales opportunities, and implement the plan as agreed upon.
Proficiently negotiate and manage complex sales and purchase agreements
Maintain all activities and related sales opportunity funnels in Hach's CRM, Salesforce.com
Maintain mail lists and organizational charts for associates, key decision-makers and significant influencers within the assigned corporate accounts.
Collect and report information on all competitive activity related to assigned accounts.
Mentor and work together with the Key Account Specialists to best serve customer needs.
Ability to develop relationships with C-Suite professionals which bring about transformative solutions for the customer
Be a trusted advisor and problem solver for customers
Ability to influence and engage internal resources to best serve customer needs
Deploy time management and priority setting skill to ensure optimum productivity
Show strategic agility and savvy business sense in navigating ambiguity
BA or BS degree required
5 years of experience performing professional level outside sales to industrial clients
Minimum 3 years of corporate level sales experience required
Broad experience in equivalent role in Food & Beverage vertical.
Sales experience involving sales of high technology industrial control products through direct sales and/or regional distributors is preferred
Requires fundamental leadership in sales management, opportunity assessment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience selling complex products and solutions is required
Experience using CRM to forecast, manage funnels, and manage customer activity to yield business success
Experience in 1 or more Hach vertical markets is an asset (Waste Water, Drinking Water, Power, Beverage or Industrial Water).
Demonstrated success presenting / influencing in an executive environment
Ability to travel up to 70% within assigned territory
Must have and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record which is acceptable Hach Company.
