The Regional IT Advisor is responsible for the roll-out and support of the organizations strategic IT initiatives in the region. Equally, this position assists, trains and provides higher level support to all IT support staff and/or non-IT employees in regional locations where there is no local IT staff presence. The post holder is also accountable for, but not limited to; ensuring compliance with the organizations IT guidelines, policies, and standards; helping with development and sharing of program and operations information, data management tools, and applications across the region; liaising with Regional management staff to meet regional and country office needs; actively participating in humanitarian emergency planning and response efforts in the region.
Establish and maintain IT operations in the region in line with HIAS global IT strategic objectives.
Directly support the agencys strategic IT initiatives by working with Regional Management, Country Management, Country based IT staff as needed to complete IT projects and support work.
Directly support the country office IT Support Staff with higher level IT support issues.
Directly support regional and country office staff to address their IT support needs where there is no local IT Support Staff presence.
Work with country office IT Support Staff to ensure they are implementing and adhering to agency IT standards, policies and strategy.
As needed train IT Support Staff pertaining to agency software, hardware, standards and procedures.
Work with HIAS HQ management to develop, document and implement procedures and standards for field based software, hardware, network infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Responsible for the documentation of field office IT infrastructure and/or systems as needed.
Help to roll out and support new applications, systems and upgrades, to include provision of training.
As needed, travel to and/or assist with all computer related matters, and project specific needs, in other country field offices.
As needed, travel in assistance of emergency operations to provide IT support.
Ensure the maintenance of the regional office IT infrastructure and communication facilities.
Play lead role in setting up country office IT infrastructure during office opening, move or closing phases to ensure corporate standards and controls are adhered to.
Work with HQ IT, regional and country offices to establish a global communication network.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A degree in Information Technology related field of study OR equivalent relevant work experience.
5-7 years of experience in a Level 2 or Level 3 IT help desk/technical support role, supporting a user base that is not in the same physical location.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Advanced knowledge of latest versions of Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office Products.
Good working knowledge of video conferencing and collaboration tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, MS SharePoint.
Good working knowledge of Cisco, Meraki, or other equivalent LAN/WAN equipment (routers, firewall, switches, wireless access points)
Good working knowledge with MS 365 platform.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory and/or Microsoft Active Directory.
Solid experience in maintaining, trouble shooting and administering a Microsoft Windows based network (LAN) and servers.
Good working experience responding to cybersecurity incidents.
Good working knowledge of Mobile Device Management tools preferred.
Extensive work experience with antivirus software for workstations and servers.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and willingness to work in a team environment.
Strong ability to build detailed technical and easy to understand end-user documentation.
Previous experience in NGOs or private sector is an added advantage.
Demonstrate ability and aptitude to train employees (to include other technical staff).
Availability to work occasional after-hours and weekends for IT related projects.
Previous experience in humanitarian emergency responses preferred.
Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
Demonstrated ability to work with outside vendors (hardware, software, services, ISPs, etc.)
Previous experience in NGOs or private sector highly desired.
