Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic Region is currently seeking an HR leader with a strong proven background in Employee Relations to help support the region in all areas of Employee Relations. The Mid-Atlantic Region employs approximately 12,500 Team Members across 7 states, including the District of Columbia, This position is located in Rockville, MD. This position will assist the Regional Executive Coordinator of Team Member Services, and take direct lead primarily with Employee Relations. Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and a compassionate demeanor are necessary to successfully execute this position. The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of human resource generalist duties, with a strong background in leading and supporting Employee Relations, with the ability to handle a heavy, diverse work load with superior problem-solving skills while exhibiting a positive attitude.
This position also requires the ability to establish and maintain exceptional business relationships with various partner groups, as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with company stakeholders including customers and guests, investors, Team Members, suppliers and the community.
Support the Regional HR (TMS) Executive Coordinator in all human resource objectives, with a primary focus on Employee Relations.
Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in all TMS-related issues.
Advise and coach Regional/Store Leadership in resolving TM relations issues in a timely manner, providing conflict resolution adhering to company policies and state/federal laws.
Guide and participate in investigations and ensure timely resolution and completion.
Lead various human resource/operational projects and work groups resulting in value added to Whole Foods Market.
Participate in team, department and regional meetings.
Maintain current comprehensive knowledge of federal & state labor laws and regulations.
Monitor the compliance of company, local, state and federal employment laws.
Ability to work independently and maintain high productivity showing tremendous initiative.
Establish and implement TMS departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures in regards to Employee Relations.
Partner with leadership to communicate changes to or reinforce and clarify TMS policies, procedures and/or programs.
Represent TMS Executive Coordinator at meetings or conferences in their absence.
Perform other duties as assigned by TMS Executive Coordinator and Regional/Global Leadership.
Desired Skills and Talent:
5+ years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience including leading and developing a team or relevant experience, with a strong focus on Hands on leadership in the area of Employee Relations
Broad understanding of HR generalist functions with the ability to act as a resource of expertise in all areas of HR.
Working applied knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor, wage and employment laws.
Experience in D.C./Maryland/Virginia a plus.
Excellent presentation skills in both small and large group settings.
Previous experience leading a team; outstanding coaching and development skills.
Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills; ability to gain support and buy-in from various stakeholders.
Ability to be a critical-thinking decision maker. Team player capable of building sustainable relationships with key partners across the company.
Strong customer service orientation, project management and follow through skills.
High level aptitude at multi-tasking, time management with ability to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Detail oriented with very good organizational skills and superior follow through.
Must be approachable and easily engage team members.
Ability to embrace change with enthusiasm.
Advanced computer skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel; experience in multimedia/graphics a plus.
