Overview Manages the Hospice Volunteer Program within an assigned group of care centers. Consults with care center leaders to assess current patient needs to build and implement care center specific volunteer programs.

Responsibilities Meets with Care center leadership of assigned care centers to assess the volunteer services that would be beneficial to the patient plan of care. Provides insight on local volunteer availability and capabilities to care center leadership for incorporation to their care planning.

Identifies volunteer services within the local community to meet the needs of the community, patients, and families.

Responsible for meeting the Medicare 5% requirement for volunteer services. Manages the volunteer budgets for assigned care centers.

Reports volunteer spend activity on a monthly basis including specific activities performed, costs and compliance with Medicare 5% requirement.

Engages within local communities to promote Volunteer recruitment and provide education on Hospice Volunteer Services. Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer program.

Evaluates the Volunteer program on an on-going basis to determine if changes are needed to the services being provided.

Participates in QAPI activity. Investigates and resolves complaints related to volunteer services for assigned care center.

Escalates as needed to Regional Manager of Volunteer Services.

Leads all volunteer people management including, but not limited to recruiting, interviewing, and selecting a group of diverse Volunteers to meet the evolving needs of the patients/caregivers and organization; documents and maintains records of on-going efforts to recruit and retain Volunteers. Conducts in-person assessment for field activity sign-off or patient care visits.

Partners with corporate volunteer support team to ensure required digital records or scans of documentation are uploaded to company sites and platforms as required for volunteer program administration.

Facilitates the process for Federal and State background checks for each potential Volunteer. Maintains a personnel file for each Volunteer that meets Federal, State and accrediting body requirements.

Arranges for the assignment of Volunteers and provision of Volunteer support to patients/caregivers based on the Volunteer Plan of Care.

Ensures timely submission of Volunteer documentation and reviews, co-signs (paper) or accepts (digital) and processes Volunteer notes. Provides ongoing assessments and supports the needs of volunteers with regular interaction and encouragement including recognition and celebration of volunteers.

Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including, but not limited to, abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.

Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree. May be substituted with three (3+) years' experience in a related field.

Must be familiar with general use and functions of computer; internet; e-mail; navigation/starting programs. Self-manage online HR services and training. Preferred One (1+) year direct or indirect supervisory or leadership experience.
