JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to manage multiple functions of building operations and maintenance of facilities within a campus and/or region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients. Conducts client meetings, communicates to clients regarding regional facilities performance. Communicates to clients regarding property profiles, emergency preparedness plans, site inspections, facility audits, work order progress reports, and other related reports.

Manages the operations and maintenance of facilities within a region.

Manages facilities staff to deliver expected service levels to the client within the prescribed budget.

Develops policies and procedures to ensure that client contract specifications are fulfilled.

Prepares presentations to management and client to obtain approval for projects.

Develops and recommends strategic facility management objectives for clients. Prepares capital project budgets and operating budget reports. Prepares periodic operating budget variance reports.

Responsible for facility inspections for quality assurance on a periodic basis. Ensures facility procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Uses pc and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.

Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.

Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of six years of related progressive experience and/or training. Bachelor's degree is desired, with focus on business, technical or management areas.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Facility Management certification preferred. Driver's license may be required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.

Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures.

Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

This person will direct channel sales development of their multi-state region by directly managing a team of sales professionals with specified account responsibility. In this role, the Regional Sales Manager will manage distributor and direct channel sales representative relationships by working closely with multiple departments in developing strategic plans that drive growth (both revenue and market share). This person will also be expected to promote the Pentair brand / products / image, propel sales programs & policies, and report results regularly to management. The position can be based out of any location in the Eastern USA region (e.g. Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Newark, NJ; Boston, MA; etc.). You will: * Lead a team of sales professionals by setting vision & strategy for the team – this person will serve as a role model through coaching and development of their direct reports. * Be responsible for achievement of sales quota in assigned region through personal account growth responsibility as well as overseeing the team's efforts. * Develop and execute annual revenue plans; this includes providing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual formal business reports. * Organize & coordinate regional sales by administering / communicating policies, procedures, and objectives through direct channel sales representatives and contracted representatives. * Review distributors, sales agents, and direct channel sales representative's sales performance on a regular basis (through quarterly, mid-year, and annual business reviews); this will involve identifying areas of improvement and making changes where needed. * Meet with sales organization(s), distributors, sales agents, and customers on a regular basis to develop & maintain a strong relationships built on mutually-beneficial strategies; this will involve presenting our products, product lines, and production capabilities. * Participate & represent in regional thought leadership events, including trade shows and industry events; this includes membership and active participation in boards such as CFESA, FSCI, SCAA, etc. * Liaise with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Product Development, and Applications Engineering staff (including joint sales calls and consistent communication from the field). * Manage contract negotiations with distributors, brokers, and end-users while working closely with the company's Legal and Finance departments. * Manage effective utilization of CRM tools, both to manage personal opportunities as well as team opportunities (including closing leads generated by our Marketing & Technical Service teams). * Travel up to 80%, including day trips and overnight trips. * Be asked to take on additional duties, as needed. You should: * Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree (e.g. B.A. or B.S.). * Have 5+ years of professional experience in Sales and/or Marketing with technical products. * Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
