Job Summary

  • This position is a regional Echo Technologist that will travel between different locations in the Baltimore and Annapolis areas. They will Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds on patients to assure high quality care and service to patients. This position will be paid a travel differential and mileage reimbursement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education/Training

  • Associate's degree with a concentration in Cardiac Sonography, or one to three years formal job related training is required.

  • Experience

  • 3 years experience post-graduation in echo cardiology experience preferred.

  • License/Certification/Registration

  • Registered Echo Tech; CPR certification required

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective communication and problem-solving skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in quality assurance program by completing all accrediting body requirements to maintain lab certification.

  • Assists in coordinating patient care with clinical staff by reviewing the patient schedule at the beginning of each day to ensure appropriate support is available at the appointed times.

  • Ensures equipment and supplies are available by coordinating preventive maintenance program, scheduling emergency service calls, and ordering necessary supplies to maintain an efficient patient schedule.

  • Maintains a regulatory/compliance environment by following organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance to state, local, and federal standards and regulations.

  • Maintains log of patient data and stored images by entering correct patient demographic information and archiving studies to ensure complete and accurate records are maintained.

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound studies on patients including, but not limited to M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms by following ICAEL guidelines to ensure high quality diagnostic studies are performed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Prepares preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling relevant measurements and data to provide summary report for physician review, interpretation, and signature.

  • Provides patient instructions and answers questions relating to scheduled procedures in order to properly educate and orient patients.

  • Recognizes and alerts physician to abnormal studies by immediately contacting physician to discuss and assist with appropriate next steps.

  • Sends diagnostic reports or study copies when required to ensure timely communication of patient data.

Participate in care coordination activities and discharge planning as appropriate. * Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Share information only when the recipient's right to access is clearly established and the sharing of such information is dearly in the best interests of the patient. * Appropriately communicate to ensure adherence to professional standards in the provision of and availability of supplies, materials and equipment needed to safely and effectively implement the plan of care. * Prepare, submit and maintain documentation as required by the Company and/or facility. Visit/shift notes documented on day services are rendered. Required Skills Qualifications * Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program or accredited School of Vocational Nursing. * Current nursing license in the practicing state. * Valid drivers license, auto insurance and reliable transportation. * Current CPR certification. * Two years experience as an LPN/LVN in a clinical setting, preferably in a home health or hospice setting.
