Job Description

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a regional Department of Defense (DoD) Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Market Sector Leader in the Southeast, U.S. This Leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity for a seller-doer to focus on marketing and developing water business with a passion for capture management for DoD clients.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Serves as the leader of AECOM's DoD water business development (BD) activities in a defined geographic area, in coordination with the region executive, regional business line leader, other market sector leads, and state leads
  • Markets AECOM as the leading provider of water, wastewater, and stormwater professional technical services to existing and potential DoD clients
  • Offers extensive knowledge of the business and product offerings to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration+ Develops marketing strategies/plans and anticipates opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector, and adjacent market sectors
  • Works with other business line and market sector leaders at the district, region, or geography level to ensure strategic business growth
  • Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders linked to the DoD water market sector
  • Serves as an ambassador for AECOM in the water business line and market sector
  • Leads major pursuits and develops capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities
  • Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner
  • Reinforces collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement.+ Provides input on BD expenditures and priorities based on market trends
  • Occasionally manages task orders and provides technical support on projects.+ Coordinates with Area Business Unit Managers and Area Market Sector leaders to establish growth strategy and drive growth
  • Continuously builds a strong professional network through personal contacts, conference planning and strategy development, committee participation, etc., including supporting client delivery as a technical advisor where appropriate

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Civil, Environmental or related degree and 10 years of related experience.+ Demonstrated experience in federal agency sales and/or working with government officials to establish business and achieve project goals.+ 10+ years of progressive experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure design; asset management, condition assessment, and utility mapping; risk and resilience; and/or Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act compliance
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.+ This position requires travel and can be up to 25% of the time.+ Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience leading and executing water projects for a DoD organization (e.g., contracting agency, military base) and/or developing and marketing DoD business for an engineering consulting firm.+ Has a strong DoD client network, preferably within NAVFAC, USACE, AFCEC, USCG, and at the DoD base level nationwide, but with focus on the Eastern U.S.+ Has a strong colleague network within other large, small, and disadvantaged engineering consulting firms; DoD utility privatization firms; and government-owned contractor operated (GOCO) sites.+ Has strong verbal presentation and technical writing skills to articulate AECOM's qualifications.+ Ability to build strong personal networks within the company and across business lines.
  • Experience in developing and/or reviewing SF330 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract qualifications and task order proposals.+ Ability to manage client contacts and pursuits using a customer relationship management (CRM) platform (e.g., Salesforce).+ Ability to participate in and hold a position within the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $205,000.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $175,000.00 - $205,000.00.
