Security Benefit (SB), a leader in the retirement saving and income solutions market, is seeking a Regional Director for the Western Division. Security Benefit fosters strong partnerships with independent distribution partners and employer-based Centers-of-Influence to provide insightful and customized retirement solutions for employers and individual investors nationwide. Through a broad advisor network and its nationally recognized money managers, Security Benefit provides mutual funds, annuities and retirement programs. As an industry leader in service technology, our affiliates offer business processing and broker/dealer solutions tailored to the retail retirement marketplace. Position will report to Vice President, Sales.
General Accountabilities:
The Regional Director will manage the key relationships with the National Education Association Member Benefits (NEAMB), Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), and the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), local leaders and other decisions makers in these organization for the Western Division. The successful candidate of the position will be required to travel extensively in an area of responsibility that encompasses the area west of the Mississippi river.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Will attend and serve as the lead at numerous national, state and local conferences for the three key organizations.
Work with Regional Vice President (RVP) to maximize territory partnerships and assist in sales growth.
Initiate and develop relationships with our key partners for business and continued sales growth.
Stay abreast of recent industry trends and recommend necessary changes based on trends.
Develop and maintain detailed business plans for the key business relationships.
Work with management to develop timely solutions.
Conduct business reviews with local, state, regional partners on periodic basis.
Contact and follow-up with association leaders for new opportunities.
Address association issues and concerns in an accurate and timely manner.
Work closely with the association leaders to understand the business needs and to explore opportunities for growth.
Provide business advice and consultancy to association leadership and members in effective manner.
Maintain strong knowledge of company's products, pricing, policies etc., to educate clients on product benefits.
Identify present and future business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
Maintain strong relationship with existing customers for business retention.
Maintain security and confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business or related field
Three years successful financial sales experience in fixed/variable annuities and/or mutual funds preferred
NASD registration (Series 6 and 63) and State Life and Variable Annuity License
Strong interpersonal, innovation, motivational and presentation skills
Knowledge of mutual fund and annuity products
Knowledge of employer or advisor market products, distribution systems, competitive environments including mutual funds and variable annuities, TSA, and laws and regulations, with emphasis on focus of employer market
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Products
Self-motivated individual who is results and quality oriented with good analytical, conceptual, organizational and time management skills
Team oriented
Ability to travel extensively to manage the relationships
