As a(n) Regional Director

  • Workforce Services you will:
  • Oversees all operations to include successful implementation of strategic and business plans, company policies and procedures, quality assurance, and financial initiatives. Ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations including financial, internal quality outcomes, external quality outcomes, employee relations and compliance with local, state, and federal law.

  • Oversees the development of the annual operating and capital budgets for each location and ensures expenses comply with budget constraints and revenue meets or exceeds budgeted goals.

  • Develops and maintains contact with current funding sources, potential funding sources and, if applicable, local and state legislators and political leaders. Maintains awareness of funding source/client requirements and legislation that impacts business operations and liability.

  • Ensures locations are compliant with client/funding source and regulatory requirements, Company and Corporate policies and procedures.

  • Ensures the provision of quality service consistent with applicable laws/regulations and corporate policies/guidelines/standards. Oversees and participates in quality assessment and performance improvement activities.

  • Works directly with location Executive Directors, clinical management and support staff to identify and resolve any issues relevant to the efficient and successful operations of each location. Assists Executive Directors in development of recruitment, retention and succession plans.

  • Oversees the development/enhancement of office systems/procedures to ensure effective operation and communication internally and with the corporate office.

  • Reviews/approves location policies based on the company's mission, care standards and business practices, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Approves bid/contract development and submission, as necessary.

  • Ensures implementation of corporate initiatives and directives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business or Human Services, or other equivalent degree.

  • A minimum of five years progressively responsible experience with the proven ability to effectively manage systems, processes, and people.

  • Experience providing services in residential or homecare setting.

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience with at least 5 direct reports.

  • Maintains relevant professional licensure/registration/certification in the state of practice, if applicable.

  • Demonstrates the experience or ability for strategic development and management at an executive level.

  • Able to travel locally and out of state

Essential Responsibilities: Through department managers/staff, directs and manages the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care which are integrated with business plans and meet or exceed cost, quality,clinical and utilization standards and performance measures. Ensures that services meet members, physician and internal client needs in a changing, competitive health care market. Accountable for the efficient delivery of patient care and support services within the service line for KP members by directing the development, evaluation and utilization of safe, cost effective, high quality nursing practices. With Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and SCPMG staff, develops strategic/business plans to achieve integrated services across the continuum of care at multiple sites/departments. Directs and ensures continuous quality and safety of staff and patients and improvement of all clinical practices, services and operations by managing the design and implementation of systems, processes and methods to evaluate and improve safe patient care across the continuum. Plans, develops and/or directs the implementation of service area initiatives within the service line shares best practices and standards of care. Directs and/or delegates to managers the appropriate delivery and level of services. Directs budget management and resource allocation. Manages financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality and safety of care and service. Manages and resolves human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety and risk management issues. Hires, fires and disciplines as part of performance management. Directs compliance with administrative, legal and regulatory requirements of governmental and regulatory agencies. May assume responsibilities of Nurse Executive in their absence. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum eight (8) years of acute healthcare nursing experience, including a minimum of four (4) years of progressive management and supervisory experience. The following requirements apply to the Director of Nursing Services - Mental Health Center at Los Angeles only. Minimum eight (8) years of psychiatric nursing experience including a minimum of four (4) years of progressive management and supervisory experience. Education Master's Degree in related field (nursing, health administration, business, public health or management). Academic degree in nursing required (Bachelor's or Master's degree). License, Certification, Registration California RN license required by date of hire. BLS certificate required. Additional Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of operations and healthcare management; Nurse Practice Act, TJC and other local, state and federal regulations. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with multiple tertiary level programs and complex hospital programs.
